No longer on roster. I thought he looked good in limited minutes against UCF. Likely frustrated with playing time?
This is terrible to see, Dockery had really showed flashes and I don't understand why he didn't get to play more. Fear he may be another Jaxon Robinson type loss.

Setting aside NIL, players like Dockery are much better off going to a mid major and playing then coming to a P5 school and redshirting. And, we shouldn't be recruiting high school kids who aren't ready to play at least some right away. Who benefitted from him practicing with the team for a year and then leaving?
I may have missed it, but I am just surprised there hasn't been much discussion about it.
Too busy talking about Phelps and Payne. He hasn't played enough to discuss his game or how he fits on this team. This is an experienced team and it's going to be tough to see the floor when we have a very good non-con schedule.CalvinG10 said:

Buzz is eventually going to solve the puzzle on a rotation, but I don't see him throwing a lot of inexperienced guys on the floor against teams like Creighton, Oregon, or Tech.
I'm not sure that we signed him to provide starter minutes, but more for depth.
The Dockery loss hurts way more for 2025 than it does this year, because thats just 1 more guy that isn't going to be returning next season, which is a problem.
We will be replacing at least 8 guys (9 with Dockery) and while I like the guys we signed, and Buzz and Co have generally done a good job in the portal, it makes me nervous bringing in 7-8 new guys - of which 5-6 are going to be expected to contribute in a major way - into a "program" that relies so heavily on time together, time practicing and learning/knowing the "Buzz system." Its setting up for a major struggle in non-conference.

Buzz has done an awesome job of beefing up our non-con schedule each of the last few seasons, but I wouldn't be surprised if next year we dial it back a little bit. The program turnover is going to be really insane.
I don't think you dial it back. Playing a tough schedule can only help you.
Even if you get clobbered several times, you get better in the fire than you do playing scrubs and at least it doesn't kill your postseason chances.

I agree. Maybe you dial it back just ever so slightly, or at least not start on the road, but keep that non-conference SOS high, because it seems like the teams with a bad SOS in non-conference get HAMMERED come selection time.

Even if it's for playing time reasons (which it probably is), I don't understand. He can't play this year at all anyways. He would've had a chance to play a significant role next year.

I feel like they knew but didn't want to say or Buzz told them not to say anything about it. Liucci looks to be pretty tight with Buzz.

Given that Marble was involved is SA case it kind of makes sense. I get the feeling that Buzz won't share personal business of his players unless they share first.
I don't think they knew from some of the stuff they were saying, at least not for a long while. But either way my point is even people that cover the team aren't going to tell us anything unless the team wants it out there or maybe the player himself posts something on social media.
There was absolute silence on a starter level player, if anyone was going to really do some digging you'd think it have been into that. Dockery being out is barely news by comparison.
