Can't not think of Dillion Harper when I hear that name.

Random sidenote when looking at the near term schedule for our nonconference opponents…. Ohio St. goes the entire month of January with 0 Saturday or Sunday games. Don't think I've ever seen that before.

The Rutgers one is a real bummer. They don't have too many bad losses though so they could get healthy and maintain good metrics.

Ohio state needs to figure out this Minnesota game. That would be a pretty bad loss.

The Ohio State coach called a timeout with 16 seconds left. The osu guy made the shot as he called the time out. It did not count. It felt like he was icing the kicker in football.

Osu got the dunk and the foul tied at 64 with 5 seconds remaining.

Overtime. Missed FT leads to a failed defensive board, and 2 missed shots by OSU. Wow

Omg double OT because Minne forgot the score! They were up 2, missed two straight free throws with about 6 seconds left. OSU got the board and their 90% FT shooter got fouled coming up the floor.

He had missed one on their last trip down when they were down 3 and Minne didn't want to give up a three. He didn't miss one the second time.

Yeah I thought that was crazy when that happened. I kind of feel bad for the player.

What is the 3p% when trailing by 4 or more under 20 seconds? Seems like it must bet 75%.

Missed travel on OSU and they will escape this one. They made free throw after free throw but Minnesota made two threes inside of 10 seconds to go. Final score 89-88 OSU.

Things start heating up tonight...

#1 Tennessee at #8 Florida - 6 - ESPN2

#6 Kentucky at Georgia - 6 - SECN - Huge game for Georgia. Their non-con was trash so they probably need 8-9 SEC wins.

Arizona at #21 West Virginia - 6 - ESPN+ - This game is for the nerds. The numbers say Arizona is the better team here and it's not all that close, in fact Arizona is favored in this game by 3.5 points.

Georgetown at #7 Marquette - 7 - CBSSN - Georgetown played one of the worst non-con schedules in the country, but posted a solid win over Xavier on Friday and is out to a 3-0 Big East start. Not sure they can challenge Marquette on the road but they're a team to keep an eye on.

#2 Auburn at Texas - 8 - ESPN2 - Texas got punked on Saturday and now returns home to face the best team in the country. Can they rebound at all or do they get punked again?

#14 Mississippi State at Vanderbilt - 8 - ESPNU - Huge game for Vandy coming off an away win at LSU. Vanderbilt's non-con schedule was also terrible, but at least they managed to not lose to anyone bad. Vandy did not get a break from the SEC scheduling gods with double dips against Tennessee and Kentucky, but a win here goes a long way towards solidifying a shaky Vandy resume.

some other decent games out there but those are the main ones I'll be keeping an eye on.

To answer your question- Texas gets punked again. It might get really ugly.

I think so too, although I think I've talked myself into thinking them getting punched in the face early is actually going to help them down the road if they can just manage to not lose all of their first eight conference games. If they can get out with two or three wins I think they'll ultimately find their way into the NCAAT field, but other than Missouri at home they're going to be dogs in all of those games.

Against Auburn? Yea, if I'm a betting man I lay the points. Texas basketball may get some post-football frustration released. They got off as easy as possible for football. Not so much basketball. And I think the league is tired of hearing it.

I have absolutely no statistical reason to believe this, but I have a weird feeling that Texas has a fantastic shooting night and hangs around tonight
