Same here! I defended Buzz his first 3 years, making excuses like COVID, and give him time to get his guys blah blah blah. We finally have a veteran team and they suck! The last 3 games is the worst stretch of Aggie basketball that I've seen since before BCG days! I'm done with Buzz. Move on

The lack of preparation is very similar of billy Kennedy teams who just got blown out and had several wtf losses.

Write Jimbo Fisher at the top of a sheet of paper. Then make a list of all the critiques that led to his firing. Now, erase Jimbo Fisher and write Buzz Williams. How much of the list is still accurate?

Billy Kennedy was conference coach of the year in the SEC, we fired him a few years later.

Kermit Davis was conference coach of the year in the SEC, Ole Miss fired him a few years later.

Jerry Stackhouse was conference coach of the year last year in the SEC, there's a decent chance he's fired this year.

The award can be a representation of a great season. It can also be the equivalent of a "most improved" award (and we all know who got those in little league). It can also simply be a popularity contest when it comes to AP. When it comes to evaluating a coach, it means nothing outside of the one year.

The posters who constantly tout those awards, and things like what his conference record in cherry-picked subsets of his career here (the same posters who want to just give a mulligan to an entire year) are the posters that simply do not want to look at the production as a whole.

The Tennessee game gave me false hope that he'd finish strong like the last two seasons. He's had a lot of inexplicable losses over the years; now they're looking like the norm.

I understand. He's a good person, and he gives maximum effort, but basketball is not an effort only sport. Basketball requires talent and skill - characteristics A&M basketball lacks on the roster and on the coaching staff.

Marble didn't get arrested. His absence has literally nothing to do with Buzz. For all we know Marble did nothing wrong

Listing common coach traits and then calling them similar is fools gold. They are coaches at Texas A&M. Both underperformed. Otherwise nothing really similar at all

There's a small overlap between Buzz and Jimbo. There's plenty to criticize Buzz about, so it's likely a moot point.

He's Jimbo 2.0. Grossly overpaid and just not cutting the mustard. We need to get rid of him and find the next guy.

Hope we bring in an AD with a shortlist to call. Right now we have a failure of leadership and Bjork failed up in the fast lane to Columbus.

Idk what it is about A&M. Just like football we have the resources to have a good basketball program but we continue to flop. I wanted Buzz to work out just like everyone else but he's proving to be another Jimbo. Wins the occasional big game then poops his pants against bad opponents consistently

You're going to have to give it one more year after coming off back to back 25+ win seasons. 15-10 without your starting center for the entire season, with a mediocre roster, isn't exactly trash. If there is no tournament this year or next, as a huge Buzz fan you just have to pack your bags and say let's try a new journey.

I don't know why this team has been so bad down the stretch. It's been outrageous but it doesn't warrant firing a coach that went 15-3 in the SEC last year which should have been the second straight year in the dance. He needs to make changes but firing him isn't the answer for our basketball program.

I think not. I've been a real fan of Buzz, but last night's game was the last straw. He can't be blamed for pathetic shooting and turnovers, but he can be blamed for failing to make changes and adjustments during the game. He was out-coached yet again. This team has real tournament potential but will end up in the NIT.

So, back to the top....is there any realistic chance that he'll be fired this year?

I think not.

Buzz simply needs to go. The players and program haven't improved a single bit, and I'd say most have regressed. This lays squarely on him.

and his recruiting is practically non existent. If Wade leaves after this season, next year could be approaching Melvin Watkins territory.

If Wade leaves, we're bottom 3 in the SEC for sure, and I'm not sure we're 3 or 2.

the lack of A.D. is an issue

it saved the baseball coach several years ago

I don't think there is any way Buzz would get fired this year even with an aggressive Athletic Director. This season, and the last three seasons are not the type of seasons that would or have ever gotten a basketball coach fired here. There is no Jimbo Fisher going 5-7 inexplicably, despite many wanting to make it that.
