As long as I can take credit away for letting a single player nascar his way to the EXACT same long winding drive every single ****ing time, including to take the go ahead basket.eb93 said:
Give credit to Buzz: called the inbounds play to get the ball to Marcus with a full head of steam.
Just out talented teams to 8 NCAA appearances in 11 years and 3 sweet 16's and an elite 8 at Marquette and VT?mazag08 said:As long as I can take credit away for letting a single player nascar his way to the EXACT same long winding drive every single ****ing time, including to take the go ahead basket.eb93 said:

Buzz is just not a good X's and O's coach.
Decent recruiter, great team builder, great motivator. I was on the Buzz band wagon hoping we'd hire him when he was at VT. But I've just seen some really piss poor things way too consistently. We nearly got beat by a guy who only drives to the right and telegraphs his drive every single time. Defensive players should have been shading that side when he had the ball all night. Instead, we guard him like we're scared of him pulling up and shooting while leaving open the only player on their team who consistently shoots well. Mind boggling.Complete Idiot said:Just out talented teams to 8 NCAA appearances in 11 years and 3 sweet 16's and an elite 8 at Marquette and VT?mazag08 said:As long as I can take credit away for letting a single player nascar his way to the EXACT same long winding drive every single ****ing time, including to take the go ahead basket.eb93 said:

So he is an elite recruiter?
ACU guard gave us fits too, might be an issue - might have just been a hot night. He did have 24 points vs a ranked Memphis.mazag08 said:Decent recruiter, great team builder, great motivator. Thanks *******. When I googled it nothing was popping up yet, and ESPN didn't have anything. Appreciate the link however.Complete Idiot said:Yes, the internet.agcrock2005 said:

We did specifically set up a screen to allow him to catch the ball moving full speed towards the basket, and players were spaced to allow him to create his shot.halfastros81 said:
I don't see anything special in terms of "Kevin". Looked to me they just inbounded to Marcus and he dribbled down the court and nailed the open three. Georgia lost a major opportunity by not picking him up in the backcourt and not really pressuring the final shot either. It was more of a failure by Georgia than anything the Ags did beyond hitting the clutch shot. I get that they didn't want to foul him but some token pressure in the backcourt would have slowed him down and made him rush his shot or his pass more than zero pressure
Georgia has some talented guys but they haven't played together much kind of like us. Kudos to Buzz for pulling it together faster than Crean. Crean seems like he shoots himself in the foot pretty regularly.

Exactly. It may have seemed like we just threw the ball into a guy who sprinted up the court and hit a shot. But he was set up by a screen and with forward momentum. Not saying it was brilliant, but it was designed and it got him in position to hit the winning shot and not just heave up a hail mary.PatAg said:We did specifically set up a screen to allow him to catch the ball moving full speed towards the basket, and players were spaced to allow him to create his shot.halfastros81 said:

Nothing ground breaking, but teams botch that all the time
When a defender is on his heels, don't take one more dribble into him, allow him to recover, or allow a help defender to come over. Normally you push until you get cut off, but in this case he pulled up where he had an open shot or could still make one pass. If he takes another dribble, the option to pass goes away and you risk taking a contested mid-range shot. Remember he's counting dribbles, not seconds. Three dribbles equals 3 seconds, plus one second for the shot.Jarrin' Jay said:
Thought it was a certain L but what a W.and clutch last shot. I am old school and don't understand going for a long distance and lower % 3 when down 1 in that situation but that is how the game is played now I guess.
