Notes from RCS in early November say: Second Baptist will be without star guard Jordan Williams who is still recovering from a knee injury suffered in the summer.
2022 point guard Jordan Williams commits to Texas A&M basketball
6-foot-3 guard Jordan Williams from Second Baptist in Houston made his commitment to the Texas Aggies this afternoon via Twitter.
Jordan Williams is an all-around athlete and is the newest addition to the 2022 recruiting class. While he has committed to playing basketball in college, he also lists himself as a quarterback and safety on the gridiron.
Not only is he a dual-sport athlete, but Jordan Williams’ physical presence is seen from the time he walks into the gym. Standing 6-foot 3-inches, the Houston guard weighs 210 pounds and lives in the weight room.
On the basketball court, he has a consistent mid-range jump shot off the dribble. When he can turn the corner, his strong frame allows him to finish at the basket after contact, and by all accounts, Jordan Williams is a guy that can knock down a 3-point shot (when given time and space). His ability to see the floor, and get his teammates the ball when the defense focuses on his dribble penetration has improved, which is only one of the reasons why his name has become more prominent within recruiting circles.
As far as recruiting goes, Jordan Williams holds offers from Virginia Tech, Mississippi State and St. John’s, among others.
This is a guy Buzz wanted to get in the fold. He is coming off a knee injury, and his stock is expected to rise in the next few months as schools such as Arizona State, Baylor, Georgia, and more.
We will have more on this commitment later.
