4-0 in conference. This team has about half as much talent as us. Edited as I had it at five.
I need the laugh/cry emoticon for this. So true!Mikeyshooter said:
No no no. Hop will be here shortly to tell you he's a mediocre coach even though he's at maybe the worst program in the SEC.

Tech won't be competitive in football or basketball for a decade. Too hard to convince athletes to go there. They have nothing whatsoever to sell.

It's the worst job in the league, yet he got them to the Final Four.
FM could also be a poor man's BCG.bobinator said:
I think Frank Martin is like a poor man's Bruce Pearl. He doesn't recruit quite as well, and I don't think either one is exactly an X's and O's wizard, but their guys play incredibly hard.

I don't know much about USC. What makes it so bad?_lefraud_ said:
South Carolina is a MUCH worse job than A&M, and if you don't realize that, then we can't really move forward with a discussion.
Are you saying he took K-State to a Final Four? I don't think that happened.Quote:

Yes...because he's been at USCe for a long time and that record speaks for itself. He's been there seven years, right?free_mhayden said:
I'm certainly not on the Frank Martin bandwagon, but in a comparison are we just ignoring what he did at his previous school?

According to what metric?_lefraud_ said:

Texas A&M and South Carolina have about the same number of NCAA Tourney appearances (8 vs. 10). A&M has gone to three sweet 16's. USC has gone to three Sweet 16's and a Final Four. And USC did a lot of that while an independent.Hop said:According to what metric?_lefraud_ said:

Frank Martin took over a program set up for success at Kansas State.free_mhayden said:Belton Ag said:Are you saying he took K-State to a Final Four? I don't think that happened.Quote:

You're right, I was viewing South Carolina's sports reference page (and saw Regional Final recently and then saw Frank Martin with a regional final at KState and equated them).
