So a father has a son that isn't very smart and struggles to get by in school. In fact, he drops out of high school and doesn't live up to dad's dream of going to college. One day the son comes home and says he passed the vocational welding course at the junior college. I guess if you were the father, you'd tell him, "so what, your dumb ass still didn't go to college. That will never change. Ever."

I'm capable of both understanding the long-term issues with Kennedy going forward while also being happy for the players and team for winning on the road today and keeping their NCAA hopes alive. After all, I am an A&M fan...meaning I root for the Aggies. It's sad that some of you are so miserable you can't separate the condition of the program and a game result.

Vandy had won 5 straight at home, including wins over TCU, Florida, and Miss St. They were playing well at home. Was a a great win on the level of winning at Auburn? No. Was it a very important road win to keep RPI afloat and NCAA hopes alive? Yes.

Aggie fans are such a beat down.

I want him fired too but put it aside after big wins. Good grief.

Yep. When you best a powerhouse like Vandy, that should shut down any negative talk concerning your coach.

It's just exhausting. Everybody agrees he sucks. I don't see the point in bashing him after a big road win that keeps our tourney hopes alive.

You have plenty of chances to bash him after horrible losses.

Holy ****, it's not a big win when you beat the team that is DFL in the conference. For Chirst sakes, they are 11-18.

They had won 5 straight at home, when was the last time A&M won there.

And you talk as if you haven't watched this A&M team play in the new year. This was a BIG win for us.

Somehow I'm guessing you weren't expecting today's game to go quite so well but now youre acting like it's a ho hum victory. What was this? Our second conference road win of the season?

Our backs were against the wall, ALMOST a must win situation needing to get to 8-10.

BIG win!

EXACTLY!

Add in the fact SEC road wins are hard to come by in general,

and we had not ever won there!

Vandy may not be very good, but look at the teams they've beaten at home this year.

Don't understand why you can't give it a rest after a good win.
Greater love hath no man than this....

Some of you need to really add some nuance into your analysis. Kennedy's overall head coaching record in terms of win/loss % is not great, but his history at all schools is something like feast or famine, without many middle of the road seasons in between.

Here are his aggregate win % by year during his career:
Year 1: 50 - 69 (42%)
Year 2: 58 - 63 (48%)
Year 3: 44 - 48 (48%)
Year 4: 63 - 33 (64%)
Year 5: 71 - 27 (72%)
Year 6: 39 - 24 (62%)
Year 7: 18 - 11 (62%)

Some people are miserable and are afraid that any praise directed the team's way means we want to keep BK? I dunno.

Why bring up a fathers love for a son compared to BK lack of coaching ability. That is in no way a fair comparison. We won a game we had to win was due to BK's great coaching who knows but it is his track record win a few lose more.

I am pissed at what happened at the end of the game. We could have all used a nice easy win but instead we had to watch an almost epic collapse. (24pt lead with 6 minutes down to 4pts) The players looked absolutely lost during that stretch and were letting Vandy score in like 4 seconds on every possession. Thank you Hogg and Admon for stepping up and hitting free throws but come on BK use your timeouts. That is why I am still pissed. I do feel like we had a good game plan and players showed effort though. No need for the drama at the end.

BK is what he is. If you are expecting quick in-game coaching adjustments and good use of timeouts- not gonna happen.

Our players took to the extreme defending the 3 and no fouls-- giving up too fast many wide open layups.

Still won- so at least it all worked out. It is what it is.

Ehhh silly way to look at it in my opinion. It's big because of the circumstance, not the opponent

In this league every game is a big win, notably road wins. Our road win against the best team in the league, was also a big win.

I would love to see TD go 1 on 1 every offensive set. I don't think we try hard enough to make the rock go through him. He needs to improve on feeling the double team and moving the ball away from it.

Hop,

I was at this game and had front row seats. I agree with your take about being happy with a win on the road. However, after watching the Vandy coach and players on the court and on the bench versus our coach and players, it is just frustrating to see the lack of intensity. My Vandy friend (female) kept asking me why the Aggies didn't play harder. She kept saying, "they aren't even trying. They're just better. They should win by 50." The Vandy fans beside me kept saying "they're just too big.". I'll always take an Aggie win but watching that game yesterday really opened my eyes to the state of the program. So many juicy highs and so many frustrating lows and knowing the coach is part of the problem and not the solution and that we are stuck with him at least another year and we are losing 4 players and maybe 5 or 6 and only have 1 recruit committed.

Honestly, I'm not sure of the upside of making the tournament and getting knocked out in the first round. Like Jeremy Foley used to say "what needs to happen eventually should happen now."

It's never a bad thing to make the tournament even if you get knocked out early. It's great experience especially for the young guys.

However, making the tournament shouldn't be the bar for success if we are ever going to be a good program. Woodward just got rid of a volleyball coach who always made the tournament but was never a real contender. Surely he views basketball the same way.

It's interesting to see how many posters were in the "his passion and demeanor on the sidelines doesn't matter" camp 5-6 years ago and slowly have started to realize that intensity and motivation from a coach towards a bunch of 18-19 year old kids often does make a difference.

I could only see what the camera showed, but on many good plays you could see Darby Rich get off the bench and butt slap guys after a big play. The camera panned over to the A&M bench several times and they looked engaged, active, and in good spirits.

I don't know who your friend is, but until A&M went in prevent mode at the end, I thought the team played hard and played well. They extended to take away the 3-point shot. Vandy only had 2-3 3-pointers until that last 4-5 minutes.

I would ask your friend how another Drew in the coaching tree with their dubious reputation can all of a sudden start signing 5-star recruits to that dump of a facility.

I feel like we have plenty of legitimate reasons to not like Kennedy or think he is a bad coach. Something the opposing coach says during a timeout to pump his players up is not one of the reasons in my opinion.
