Look, Kennedy might need to go. But you people that insult Kennedy by acting as though he suspends and boots players as a means of generating an excuse are just bad people. I don't like you. I don't know if Kennedy should keep being out coach, but I like him. He is a good man. You are not. I feel sorry for you.
Which has been my point as well. Like the stupid comment that Kennedy never takes responsibility for anything and throws players under the bus. Y'all are just making this stuff up. I've heard many times say in a presser "I've gotta coach better." I mean, there are legitimate reasons for wanting a new coach. You don't need to just make crap up.

Kennedy isn't paid for his likable qualities as a person, he is paid to win basketball games, bottom line. The Kennedy Apologists always bring up his likability (or even worse, his religious faith) like it is more important than wins and losses, and it gets tiring.

The problem with the Kennedy Apologists is that they just flat-out cannot ever see a scenario where their guy should be fired, and it gets tiring dealing with their brand of absolutism.

It's hard to take people seriously who respond with comments like that to a post that begins, "Kennedy might need to go."

If you keep building that strawman enough times at some point it might stick

Kennedy is a garbage Bball coach. His firing was inevitable year 1. Who gaf if he's a good guy. He cannot coach or manage and is an average recruiter. Bye
BK most likely lied to Rick Stansbury to get him to come here (never planned on stepping down as likely promised) and fired a good friend in the process on the coaching staff---- all to save his job...

BK told BB and fans (when he was first hired) that he would build an offense where we shot often in the first 7 seconds. Obviously, he had no real plans for that.

The only way he knows how to "discipline" is to suspend and throw guys off the team. Not the old fashioned way of earning their respect and some healthy fear of getting in trouble.

Years after the deal was made, BK has even implied they very likely knew there was something seriously wrong with him health-wise, but did not disclose that to A&M until after his contract was done.

But BK goes to the right church and talks all Jesus-ey at times. He is a swell guy.

I don't see where anyone indicated or implied that he suspends and boots players as a means of generating an excuse. Most posts I read indicate he will have an excuse, not that he took these actions so he would have an excuse. So the rest of your post after that is asinine, other than Kennedy being a good man. For YOU to tell people that they are bad people is flat out ridiculous. Exactly WHO made YOU the judge of whether people are good or bad??!!

Fair point. It seems implied to me, but it's not quite stated.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what I posted...none.

That is pure speculation on your part to serve your narrative. You have no idea the reasons why Stansbury came here, and you know nothing of Kennedy's sales pitch to get him here.

Again, there are tangible reasons why a change could be warranted. Making up that Kennedy lied to Stansbury is not one of them.

I very much hope Kennedy gets "promoted" into the Athletic Department after this year but those who are just flooding this board to only **** on the coach and the athletes, please, just leave.

It's the most likely explanation of what happened. Nothing more, nothing less.

BUT yes, BK is plenty incompetent in his own right, based on what we know for certain.

The most likely explanation is that Kennedy called him up and asked him if he wanted to coach, and then he said yes. What sounds good in juicy gossip does not make things more likely. The scenario you give is actually a ridiculous thing to have happen, not a likely one.

The most likely explanation for why he left also doesn't need to be nearly as salacious, even if you accept the gossip that there was some kind of bad blood. Its not like this program isnt filled with people coming and going, thrown out, run off, etc etc over the past 7 years, and not all of needed to have some kind of "broken promise" to make that happen.

Only one thing could kill you between marijuana, a plant which grows in the ground, and Chris Collins playing key minutes in reaching the NCAA tournament. And it's not the plant.

I hope Kennedy "indefinitely suspends" Chandler until the first media timeout of the next game. Since this is Caldwell's second offense so he should be "indefinitely suspended" until Duane Wilson is ruled out completely.

I am very disappointed in the players. How do they keep getting caught? Very disappointing.

Rick was hired as "associate coach" for a guy firmly on the hot seat. Rick would have had better opportunities then to uproot his family for merely an asst coach gig. Obviously, we have to agree to disagree because this sort of stuff doesn't come out as fact until the coaching staff is gone.

What better opportunities are you talking about? Like he could have gone to WKU for 500k or whatever 2 seasons earlier?

Wow!

After an 0-5 SEC start, we've won 6 of our last 7 SEC games, last week we beat #8 Auburn and ripped Kentucky before a full house at Reed.

And, there is still a group of so-called Aggie fans who can't think of anything, can't think of anything but getting rid of the coach.

Pathetic, tiresome.

I'm pretty sure I just watched us beat Auburn and UK with both Caldwell and Chandler playing just 4 minutes combined. If things go south I doubt it will have anything to do with them.

And next year when we lose everyone with talent but have recruited literally nobody to replace any of them?
Next year? C'mon homeboy the sky isn't falling just quite yet.

During the losing streak he said he couldn't run practice because all his players weren't 100% heathy. This was after Gilder and Wilson were back.

Gilder and Wilson weren't practicing. The announcers even commented on it during the UK game.

The starters in practice were Starks, Chandler, Hogg, Williams, and Davis.

Second team would have been Caldwell, Collins, Flagg, Trocha-Morelos, Jasey.

Take your guess at what the scout team who prepares the guys for the game looked like..

Then you get to the game and your starting two guard from practice is a 4 min player.

It's not an excuse. It's been a reality.

Oh, you missed his meltdown on the baseball board last season where he gave up on the team 2 weeks into conference play and then they went on a winning streak and made it to Omaha. He promptly left that board and hasn't shown his face there since.

No talent left? Hogg and Davis are not getting drafted and I don't see them jumping to play in Europe instead of staying for their Sr year regardless of what the negative nancies say out here. Neither come from families in need and another year in school gives them a better chance at the following draft. Starks and Gilder are back as well along with Flagg and Chandler assuming he can stay off the weed. So Wilson Tony and Williams are sure things gone. So there is as good a chance that the majority of the core rotation is back with a yr of experience under their belt than a mad exodist out the door. But keep reassuring yourself that everyone is leaving if it gets you through another miserable day.

This debate has been over for years. Kennedy is a terrible coach. He should have never been hired, and he should have been fired years ago.

What's great is that we actually do have the talent to make it to the sweet 16 again even with the loss at guard. Although, without Wilson, I doubt we'll make it that far. If the team does make it even to the round of 32, you won't see Kennedy getting fired at the end of this year, no matter what. The only hope that we'd have a new coach next year is if he decides he's had enough. It will take more than losing in the first round for him to be fired. So look forward to a really 'Kennedy year' next year!

I'm sorry your life sucks so bad because the Texas A&M basketball team is not 25-0. I know you perpetual whiners were getting worried by our winning streak. But finally we got some bad news so you could crawl out of your moms basement and pout and whine and hate.

Such a pathetic miserable existence.
I'm a Kennedy critic, and I'm actually very happy with the win streak that we have.

However, I've become a Kennedy critic because I love Aggie basketall and am sick of us getting embarrassed year after year. 1 NCAA tournament since 2011 is pathetic.

Hope we can continue winning without Caldwell and Chandler.
The team has basically been without them anyway, right? What have they really offered up recently?

why? I don't understand this. Why should we invent a job for him?

He's got a contract, if we fire him he will get a nice payout.

Why can't we leave it at that.
