The only year I found that we finished in the final coaches top 25 (AP does not do a poll after the tourney) under Turgeon was in 2010 when we finished 25th. I believe you are mistaken. I'm pretty sure we have never finished ranked in the top 25 in back to back years. Metcalf, BCG and Turgeon never accomplished this feat. I'm not saying Kennedy can't accomplish it, but it's highly unlikely based upon our history.

Most people only count polls that include postseason play. March Madness is pretty important. That 2011 team that you want to count was beaten in the first round by a double digit seed.
Totally. A&M is completely above something like that.
Polls don't really matter. Making the tourney matters. How far you go matters.

Where do they hang the "we finished ranked twelfth" banner? The conference championship matters. I mean it's a god awful conference and the real best team had to play us in our house but it's still a championship. It just doesn't matter as much as tourney success. To me, pumpkinhead. To me.
Grayson Allen officially returning to Duke. Should cement them as preseason #1 next year.
Tyler Ulis officially hiring an agent, so he won't be back for UK next year. Improves A&M's chances for an SEC title next year.
Ulis averaged 37 mpg as a sophomore. Holy sheet!

His tank was getting dry at the end of the season in a few games. He was asked to do a lot.

if that list is even close to being accurate, our schedule is a bit flimsy at the moment. Just 1 SEC team ranked, UK at #3, who we (might?) only play once

Our non-con schedule is going to be good. Gonzaga and Iowa State finished last year #16 and #18 in KenPom so that should be about where West Virginia and UCLA are next year maybe. Add in Arizona and USC and that's a quality non-con.
Lord knows what the conference will look like next season.

Three ranked opponents in OOC (the only part of the schedule we have any control over) is actually pretty good. Last year we also played 3 ranked opponents in non-conference. I don't see much drop off from the upcoming OOC compared to last season.
It's looking more and more like putting the SEC/B12 challenge is the middle of conference play was a genius move on the SEC's part. Or at least it has worked out greatly in A&M's favor.

Getting a ranked WVU this upcoming January could have similar benefits, depending on where the UK game falls on our schedule.

Also, last year's OOC had some really solid depth beyond Gonzaga (16) and ISU (18).

My point was that it's a really good idea, I was just trying to create a hypothetical where it might not benefit someone. Hell, given how bad our league is we should reseed the challenge and play again at the end of February also.
