Anybody know what in the world a basketball game in Jerryworld will be like and what areas would actually be good seats?

I'd like to pick up some tickets to see the Flordia/Florida Gulf Coast game but don't know what I'm really for in terms of decent tickets.

I'm one of the ants about halfway up the bleachers on the left. Not the best angles/you're a little far way. The angles aren't as bad as they may look in the photo, but it may give you an idea of what you're getting into. Its probably well worth it to spend a little extra to get a little closer.

Hmm the bleachers on the left are considered risers on StubHub? All of the other "floor" seats appear to not be even listed on stubhub... dunno what to do.

Football stadiums normally won't have a great view for basketball. Save the money and watch it at home in HD

It won't have great sightlines, but it'll be a very unique I hope a very fun experience. I had a good time, and am going to keep an eye on tickets this week.

I assume the AA,BB,CC etc etc row seats are the lower "floor" seats. Correct?

If you aren't in any of the areas that are the close temporary seating areas than you should just go to a bar to watch. Terrible basketball venue. Makes the Alamodome seem like the old Boston Garden

If your seats are anywhere other than front row, you'll be so mesmerized by that giant television, it won't matter anyway. I went to NBA allstar game and that was the consensus.

For stadiums that are in the Final Four rotation the NCAA cares a lot more about "How Many" seats than whether or not any of them or any good.

Can't believe they put the court at midfield rather than the endzone. It will be like looking across town at a game from the 2nd or 3rd decks

They started that midfield nonsense 2 years ago at the houston final four. it's alot better for the fans when its offset. I've been in both on several occasions and there is no comparison.

They can't do the offset because jerry world doesn't have many endzone seating. It's full of faux strippers and trucks on platforms.

I do wonder why they couldn't push the court closer to one sideline. Leave 4-5 rows on one side for super premium seats and then build a bleacher section on the other side with good sightlines, but no view of the board.

This seems like a win-win-win

It will be aweful. A waste of time. You won't be able to see ****.

I went to sweet 16 and final 4 in reliant. Bottom deck and the court seemed 300 yards away.

was looking into going, but after seeing this no way, unless i was given free tickets up close.

above poster is right, NCAA just cares about butts in the seats, rather than fan experience.

To be fair, the NCAA allots each participating school some of the better seats in the house for all rounds.

The NCAA also covers the school's costs of participating and distribute the rest of their revenue from the tournament to their members. A&M's going to get a nice $1 million+ check in the mail in a few months thanks to this tournament.

I think it should also be noted that by playing these things in football stadiums, they're giving tens of thousands of fans that wouldn't fit in a normal arena a chance to have some sort of in-arena experience.

FWIW, the NCAA is going to revisit the stadium requirement. So, no, they are not simply concerned with butts in the seats. However, as noted earlier, the demand for tickets is such that there may be more backlash for going to smaller arenas than there is for stadium seating.

Frankly, I'd rather they keep it in stadiums. I may be able to afford a ticket in a 70,000 seat stadium. I'll never be able to afford one in a 18,000 seat arena.

What is weird is that 2 of the 4 sites for this weekend are arenas. Other 2 are stadiums but jerryworld is using center setup while Lucas oil is using endzone setup with curtain

I hate how the NCAA has games played in football stadiums. The whole entire tournament including the Final 4 need to be played in a arena.

The final 4 was last played in a arena in 94 when Arkansas won, it was in Charlotte.

Jerryworld has to do this because of the 75 yard long TV. I've always been skeptical of final fours in stadiums, but if they must do it this way, than. Jerryworld is perfect because of the TV. I'm actually looking forward to them hosting the final four next year.

Went to the final 4 in Reliant 2 years ago,
Will never pay $ to goto a basketball game in a football stadium again unless it's an endzone setup.
At the final 4 we had seats in the lower level halfway up and even with the baseline.. They were considered "good seats". It was so far away you couldn't even follow the game.
Buddy of mine was sitting behind the basket in the endzone seats.. He left in the 1st Half because the seats were so bad.
And no atmosphere whatsoever.. Big football stadiums sucks all the atmosphere out of basketball games.
