Big 12 Champs, as in co-champs, yes.

#1 seed for the tourney?? Does not happen if KSU loses one game, and one game only to anyone OTHER than Kansas. If KSU beats Kansas and loses to one of the other teams listed, they would STILL be the #1 seed in the tourney.

You're right!

If Kansas and KSU BOTH have 3 losses (KU beats KSU, Ags beat KU), then they would be tied in conference.

Divisional ties broken first by head-to-head, still a tie. Next is divisional record. KSU loses to KU and Missouri. KU only lost KSU. Therefore KU wins the divisional tie break, as would A&M. Then the head-to-head puts US first.

IF KSU loses to t.u. instead (and beats KU), then KSU wins the north on head-to-head.

My bad.

But KSU beating KU at home is a longer shot than us winning out.

Thread Title states ksu has to lose again before we control our destiny

Shank- in addition to being an A-hole, you are also wrong.

Re-read your post. You are wrong. Your post was wrong.

Do you get it?

Don't try to re-write what you originally posted. And try not to be such an A-hole.

that will probably help you see where you went wrong, Shank.

actually, even a loss to KU still makes your post wrong, because, as you yourself note, there is still additional things that would have to happen. That is NOT controlling your own destiny.

And speaking of the short bus, I'm not sure you're worthy.

How do you still not get it. I said one more KSU loss and we control our destiny. Doesnt matter who to. So what if we both end up 13-3 and noone else does... We still are champs. No tiebreaker for the championship.

What of my post is wrong? We are a KSU loss away from completely controlling our destiny.

Fact- KSU loses another game before the end of the big 12 and we win all of the rest of them, we are big 12 champs.

So call me an ahole for proving you wrong again, i dont care.

Shank's got it right. Just because it wasn't explicitly described as a shared CO-CHAMPIONSHIP, doesn't make his statement wrong.

Possibly misleading?

Maybe, if you didn't know there weren't any tie-breakers in Big XII basketball (which a surprising number of posters didn't know - including me until I asked once).

Seeding in the tourney? Absolutely a different story. Depending on WHO KSU loses to will determine whether or not we would be a #1 or #2 seed.

So see? Name calling was not necessary.

The problem with all this is semantics. Saying that each of, say, three teams are "Big XII Champs" to me is inane. If there are no tie-breakers for the regular-season champ, then everyone tied for the top is a co-champ. Calling ourselves (hypothetically) Big XII Champs when 2, maybe 3 other teams are tied with us is flat out silly and naive.

To me, the tiebreaker that determines the Big XII Tourney seedings is the de facto tiebreaker for the regular season... ie, #1 seed in toruney = Big XII regular season champ. Then winner of the tourney calls themselves Big XII Tourney Champs. It's all semantics, and borderline mental masturbation.

This is supposed to be a HAPPY occasion!

So lets stop all this bickering and arguing about who killed who. . .
