Let the whorns enjoy it while it last because after they lose tonight and we beat OSU on Saturday and pummel their ass next Monday they will not be so lucky.

We all know that ESPN and the national polls have a love affair with t.u. The fact is they're not that amazing as their rank/potential tourney seed now reflects. Pretty soon they'll stop getting lucky and beating the mediocre teams they're scraping by, and all the t-shirt fans will realize their precious team isn't so amazing.

I hope they beat KU tonight, and then when we take care of business against them next Monday night, it will make us look really good.

I think we match up well against them, and have a good chance of beating them next Monday.

you made it seem like the teams they lost to are now top 25 and the teams we lost to are not in top 25, wiconsin and mich state were not in the top 10 until they beat t.u. and after we lost to baylor, they became a top 25 team, and arizona is a good team, anyone can agree with that, and also, unlv game memphis a run and lost to them by 7, and we beat them by 7...

I dont know why our spot in the rankings compared to anyone matters right now...all we need to do is win ball games and that will do all the talking

Texas lost back-to-back games over the holidays.

While ranked #5, they were upset on the road by then #10 Michigan State.

Then, while #10, they were upset AT HOME by then UNRANKED Wisconsin.

Granted when compared to our three game skid to then unranked teams, we can't argue that this was worse. But it seams like their upset of UCLA bought them a couple of freebies as far as the polls and writers are concerned.

I'm not arguing that we should be ahead of them, but what I am arguing is that all this talk about their #2 seed and being a "lock" while the same writers are putting us in "should be in" or "work left to do" categories after a 5 game winning streak is crap.

t.u. has NOT been dominating in their Big XII wins. When comparing, now we have throw OU out of the picture all together since lowly Colorado spanked them. But ISU never came close against us, yet took them to OT (when t.u. had to play from behind to go into OT in the first place).

I totally agree with the arguement that Aggies would be throwing a fit if people called us "struggling" if we were winning our games by 3 or less points, so therefore it's not a totally fair argument to do that to the sips. . .

BUT

If they are held to such a high standard with such high regard by the national media, then where are these critics who hated us after a 5-OT loss at home to unranked Baylor when unranked Wisconsin beat t.u. at home to hand them their second consecutive loss? Also, if their sh*t doesn't stink because they beat UCLA, then no one should be satisfied that lowly ISU took them to OT, they beat OU by a bucket, or couldn't beat BU at home by more than ten. . .

So, Aggies aside, forget the comparison. When you simply argue t.u.'s performances by comparing their own wins to their own losses and the rankings at the time, there's plenty of inconsistency for any ranked team to complain about making them a lock and a #2 seed. . .

Why dont we just concentrate on beating them in their house. Maybe we should just win out and not worry about mid-season rankings.

uhhhh they played better teams than we did..won most of them----best shot was the Iowa St upset which did not happen..now they beat KU, gain confidence....and look out....
If the loose to Iowa St then they loose tonight...and maybe 4 of 5.....but the didn't so they won't and that is why they are ahead of us.....FOR NOW.....

old main- Texas now has beat top 5 Kansas and beat top 5 UCLA on the road, top 10 Tenn on the road, and beat a top 20 Saint Marys. Im sorry but as of right now nobody has as many quality wins then Texas does, a 2-3 seed is probably right at this moment.

Whoever thinks that we have a better resume than texas or why they are a 2 or 3 seed, then you should start watching golf.

There is no fact other than the head to head that we have a better resume.

Losing to tech by double digits is enough to end all talk.

College basketball is a season of ups and downs and our schedule reflects that. We've shown how well we can play and how bad, over the course of the season and both will be taken into consideration come seeding time.

Same for you guys.

It isn't about who is hot at the end and it shouldn't be. In fact, historically, the committee has looked long and hard at what teams have done in the OOC.

I think it is mostly academic, because I think Texas and A&M are going to be highly seeded.

We are going to be a 4-6 seed, unless we go on a run.


tu has slightly less talent, but they are either mentally tougher or just better coached.

Its hateful to say that a sip team is mentally tougher than us, but I dont know how else to explain all the wins they pulled out, and the debacles we suffered like the meltdowns in lubbock and manhatten, baylor and the choke in tuscon.

Hopefully, our team will man up and beat the sips in austin. if not, then its another nice season, top 25 ranking (if we can get another 7 total wins), hopefully Deandre goes high lottery, Joe Jones gets drafted, Kirk goes into coaching and starts turning out future Ags as tough as fundamentally sound as him and we have to sit and wonder what might have been.
