I got this email from the American Family Association and thought it was really interesting. Does anyone know if this ESPN person has ever been to any of our events (I guess basketball specifically because this is the basketball forum). A&M gets blasted for not looking at a black head coach and for our campus having a large conservative population, many of whom do not like homosexual marriage so we get blasted for "hating gays" but every day someone takes a jab at Christianity and it is ok and there is nothing wrong with it.... I hope this person never comes to an A&M basketball game on ESPN cause I'll have a couple signs right behind the for her trashing Jesus.

Jacobson's comments were at a public event where she was representing ESPN.

The fact that neither ESPN nor ABC has taken any action against Jacobson indicates they have a bias against Christians. Donohue said that Jacobson should be fired.

This anti-Christian bias of the networks is becoming commonplace. Actress Kathy Griffin used her appearance on the Emmy Awards program to tell Jesus to "suck it," responding to athletes who thank Jesus when they achieve certain levels. No action was taken against Griffin.

Anyways, it was such a stupid idea from espn. They were doing a roast of mike and mike I think, where the whole point is to say outlandish things. Of course someone was going to cross the line, thats what happens at these things.

It was at a roast for Mike and Mike...it is something that people do at a roast. Now I am not condoning her remarks, but I am not about to have her beheaded either. She is Jewish I believe so I can see where she would say the things she said because Mike Golic went to Notre Dame. Again I am not condoning her, but people shouldn't treat her like the anti-christ either. Just my opinion.

Christians should not push companies to take action against such stupid comments. If I owned the company, I would take action. But as a Christian, I do not think it is wise to make an issue of these kind of things. Just leave it alone.

i never said fire her.... all I said was it it is interesting that if Mel Gibson says soimething anti semetic while he was drunk and it i=s front page story and he is crucified (no pun intended) for it, why is it acceptable for someone to say f- Jesus. I don't care if it was a roast or not... if I went on a roast and said burn the jews or gas the jews (I guess this lady is a jew) I would get in big trouble.... and you cant even say nappy headed hoe on a talk show without getting fired.... I don't think anyone should be fired for any of the above (unless the company thinks the person will hurt their company by alienating people and then the company can do whatever they want) so i never said fire her, but tere is very much something wrong in the workd if you can say f_ Jesus and it is not a big deal but if you say nappy headed hoes or say somkething bad about gays you are kicked out no questions asked.

That was very disrespectful of her. I hope some one shuts her up and gets her FIRED. That was STUPID. What an idiot.

The 1st Amendment doesn't and was never intended to protect someone from getting fired for saying something their employer deems offensive or to prevent others from protesting about what someone said.

It is disturbing to me you don't know this and in part claim support Ron Paul because he's for the Constitution.

good comment about al sharpton.... that really drives home my point.... I don't think anyone should be censored whether they something about God or gays and people can like it and listen to them or they can choose not to support them... but there is a problem when al sharpton is a hero and can lead a rally against someone who says something like nappy headed hoes and the media loves it but the media doesnt cares if someone says something bad about whites, or conservatives, or Christians, etc.
