The new search function is almost ready!

I've opened it up to all subscribers to allow for some broader testing. Please give it a try and and let me know what you think.

Note: it currently only searches up to April 13th, so don't try to search with the "last day" or "last week" options (you won't get any results)

before it opens, I will add in 2002 and thread titles

i will eventually add in our archives back to 10/10/1999, but they are currently fractured off from our main dataset, so it will take a bit more work to reintegrate them.

just wondering... is this why (not being a subscriber) when i search i can't get any results newer than 4/17?

hbc07, i happen to notice that as well on friday. the two search systems are independent thus the timing is just coincidence.

I asked Brandon to get the old search back up until my new search comes online. i'm actually headed out of town for the rest of the week, so the new search release is going to be delayed until next week. sorry.

Something funny happens after you try to search on an iPad. The screen runs a tan background that eventually ends in a pop up error message.

I believe the complaint to be with the old/current search. Taking down the new search won't have any affect on it.

New search is working great for me. Works on both search terms and usernames. All I can say is WOW, just WOW. This thing is great!

Ok, maybe I was a little too excited by this. Looks like it isn't picking up the newer posts but it is still a huge improvement over the old version.

When I click "next page" it loads and stays at the bottom. Also gave me an option for "next page" and then said no more results.

No way to specify searching "subject only?"

i'll fix the next page not bumping you to the top. thanks.

right now, the next page not having results is functioning as designed (it doesn't know how many pages there are), but i'll eventually change that.

limiting the search to subject only is on my list.
