I need a good one, the place by house has great one that contains two Jimmy Dean links and is baked all the way through, darker and less sweet than the donut shop versions which are usually light in color, doughy in the middle and overly sweet. Quacks price has doubled in the last 4 years from 3 to 6 bucks but there are still people waiiting for the 8 and they usually gone at 10.

I'll dig my grandmother's recipe out when I'm back home.

I made real kolaches not all that long ago and will likely bake another big batch the week of Christmas.

If you have a favorite kolache dough recipe, just cut back on the sugar. You still need some for the yeast so the rise doesn't take forever.

This is true! I usually cut the sugar in half in the kolache dough for klobasnek.

Vincek's meat market in East Bernard has the closest I've found to the original sausage kolach that was made by the Village Bakery in West using Nemecek Bros sausage. The OGs used link sausage cut in half. Here's grandma's recipe for dough
