We have an opportunity to procure bottles from several barrels that many of you might find interesting! Here's the backstory on the barrels:
Over 15 years ago Wild Turkey was upgrading their equipment. They contracted Buffalo Trace to distill for them using the proprietary WT yeast strains, mash bill, etc. Campari took over ownership of WT about that time and elected to sell off those barrels to other suppliers. These barrels have now made their way to private bottlers and are being released under various brands like OKI and Seelbach's.
There are several barrels available ranging from 112.5 up to 125 proof for 15.5 year BT distillate of WT mash bill/yeast strains. I was able to sample several of them and they are all quite good IMHO. These barrels are being procured through: https://thewhiskeyblendery.com/
They will not have WT or BT on the labels but you'll know that the juice inside is very much a marriage of two of the best in the bourbon business!
Pro's of this release: 15.5 year distillate from BT with the WT mash bill and yeast strains. Bottled at Barrel Proof ranging from 112.5 up to 125 proof.
Con's of this release: Won't have a tater label like BT or WT. Will have the juice though! Price is not for the feint of heart. We're looking at about $260ish per 750ml. It's also several barrels and we can't guarantee who would get what.
We'll take the first 70 "In's" for now with the possibility it might be more available if the interest is there. If there's interest in splitting some of the bottles into 375ml please let us know cuz that's being considered also.
