Figured this would be fun to do and would lead to some good suggestions, recommendations or stay the hell away from this place posts.

I'll go first. Ramen Tatsu-Ya in Round Rock. They have locations throughout Austin and I think it's great. Pictured is the OG, but I prefer the Mi-So Hot.

Pork Osso Bucco with Risotto Milanese. Buddy had a slow cooked lamb shank that was also very good.

Wives did Chicken Marsala and a Pasta Bolognese. It's a great little family owned place. Also about 2 miles from the house so it's definitely a go to for us.

After. When I'm paying money at a restaurant, I utilize all services provided.

Santiago's used to be the only decent Mexican food near the university corridor. Area has changed so much.

Jack Allen's, Santiago's, and the little Chinese place by specs were the go tos. Good memories. But skip the hospital food.

I've never been to that location.

Would love to hear some other mexican food suggestions in the area. Santiagos is decent, but it doesn't blow me away. Obviously Lupe is here as well. Everything else in the area is ok at best.

I'm stoked that Tatsuya opened near me. I was a huge fan of Michi on N Lamar, but the last time I went, I was beyond disappointed. That place went downhill.

I don't work up in that area anymore so not sure if there is any decent mexican food around there now. Santiagos wasn't what I would call good but it was the best in the area about 10 years ago. There was a good hole in the wall near Leander that I can't find again.

For Pho, by far the best in Austin is Pho Phong Luu - Ph, Ph, Bnh M, Nh Hng.

I had breakfast tacos at Luna's Tacos yesterday morning, and they were pretty good. They tout their birria, so I'm going to be trying that soon.

Luna's is alright. They have those "creative" tacos going for them.

Taquerias Arandinas near RR High School and 620 has good crispy Tripas and barbacoa tacos.

If you want a bangin Mexican restaurant, try Camino Real Mexican Restaurant off of 183 and McNeil.

I was not a big fan of momma Betty's and Mesa Rosa is garbage.

I can basically walk to Santiago's and I find it very good. Are there better spots? I'm sure. But with three kiddos, it gets the job done.

this is why we go to Santiago's by us. Its fine, but the outdoor area where the kids can move around is gold. as long as its not 107 degrees. I'm not sitting on that patio in this heat.

and for other place I'm in far north RR, so going anywhere south of Old Settler's is a no-go half the time bc of traffic.

See, I wish my Santiago's had outdoor eating for the kids to move around. The 620 location does not.

I will do my best to get up there and try that location out. I like comparing very small chains to each other. You never know.

i have not been to the location on 620. usually if I'm in that area, i'm either driving on through to somewhere else, or we stop a hoody's since we don't get down there that often.
