What are some of your craft beer go tos.
Recently I have been on Twisted X - Pils and Kolsh and St Arnolds summer seasonal's are good.
I want to change it up without being stuck with a 6 pack of crappy craft beer.
God Bless the Texas Aggies.

Costco sells some pretty cool variety packs...in 12 or 24 can cases. I bought one from Deep Ellum that included their Easy Peasy IPA which is a summer favorite of mine.

I'd recommend everything from Live Oak then (Gold, Pilz, Hefe, etc.). Hans Pils from Real Ale is a fantastic Pils and my go to most of the year. Austin Beerworks pumps out some fantastic Pils but I don't know if they make it that far south.

I'm a fan of all of those except the Sun Shovel. That's only because I don't like wheat beers.

Have you been to Off Rhodes Craft Beer Station on East Common? They sell singles.

Anything from Altstadt. I keep stock of their Lager and I'll buy their Light in a 15pk if it shows up at HEB.

since he mentioned Thirsty Goat, I'd specifically add Austin Amber and Live Oak Big Bark to the list.

I am a German beer fan too. The Live Oak Hefe is as good or better than any German hefe I have ever had! Worth the try.

A lot of the good breweries have been mention are from the Austin area and I definitely agree. Real Ale, Live Oak, and Austin Beerworks rarely put out a bad beer.

That said, Freetail in San Antonio has a great track record. I drank their pale ale recently and it sounds like it's right up your alley for taste. I generally like Alamo Amber, but I can't speak too far past that in their catalog.

Broken Sandal is a newer option in SA I believe. Finding Friday is an excellent amber.

Can't really go wrong with any German beer either. Ask you local beer buyer about Konig Pils. 4 pack, 500 ml cans and is infinitely crushable.

i thought it was Busted Sandal? Its been around for 8 or 9 years, i think. I went a couple times when I use to go to SA for work a lot.

5 Stones is nearby you. I have not had a bad pint there yet. Faust brewing is fairly decent as well.

I like purchasing individual cans/bottles at Total Wine & More. If you see a pack that interests they will sometimes break it down for individual resale.

It's been a minute, but I knew it was something to that effect. Either way, Finding Friday is a great option around SA

Altstadt hefe is excellent too IMO. Tastes like a very German hefe, like Live Oak, rather than a more Americanized hefe.

Build-your-own 6 packs are good options. I fear commitment to beers I haven't tried.

The K9 lager from Texas Beer Company is good.

Brazos Valley Brewing has had some great options. Their blonde ale is a favorite of mine.

I wish I could find Twisted X Pitmaster in Houston. It's a great beer when it's this hot. I can get Altstadt and I like almost everything they do.
