I love my air fryer. It is great for finger foods for watching football games. My friends use them to reheat fast food for their kids. Used mine to make tater tots for my teenager on Saturday.
For whatever reason frozen tater tots do great in an air fryer. Closest thing to actual fried food coming out of an air fryer.

I was single for a very long time. I loved my Breville, cooked everything in it (except eggs?), and hardly ever turned the big oven on. Now that I'm married, we love our Breville, cook just about everthing in it (except eggs?), and hardly ever turn the big oven on. No need for an air fryer to take up more counter space when the Breville can do it all (except eggs).

air fryers work because the food actually has fat in them...

Finally got one. 4qt. Just made some brussel sprouts and french fries. I'm impressed. Would've taken me probably close to 45 minutes to make 2 servings of fries, if you include pre-heating the oven and then flipping the fries halfway through. With this air fryer it took less than 15 minutes total, with a quick shake of the tray halfway through.

Brussel sprouts were pre-cooked in the bag and put in for 5 minutes to toast up and came out pretty good, though not as good as if in the actual oven.

Regardless, I'm sold. Too bad it took me this long to get it. I think this'll make it so much easier to make good, healthy, food in a pinch when I'm busy.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Bumping an old thread. I'm ready to pull the trigger on an air fryer. Thinking of the Ninja AF101. We will mostly just be cooking for two now that the kids are in college. Thoughts on this model?

We're relatively new to the air fryer craze. Dipped a toe in the water and bought a Gourmia for $40 at Costco about 8 months ago. Works great. Also, it's nice to avoid turning on the oven in this heat.

I have the exact same one. Love it. I think it's great at that price point and as a "starter" one.

However, if I were doing it again, armed with the knowledge I have now, I would get a larger one with a square cooking area instead of circular. I am probably going to be looking for a new one for Black Friday just for those reasons. A convenience thing though and has nothing to do with function of the Ninja you linked.

I can highly recommend the Emeril Lagasse Power Air Fryer 360: https://a.co/d/gyWXcP7

Been using one a few times a week for the last couple of years without issue. Best tip I can give is to get precut aluminum foil from Costco as those foil sheets fit the tray on this thing perfectly such that I almost never have to clean it. Also does great heating up those Costco Bare brand chicken nuggets (air fry 19 min at 400).

Another vote for $40 Gourmia at Costco, regularly goes on the sale rotation, great for beginners or high school boys, especially with these paper liners that fit great - Amazon.com: Air Fryer Disposable Paper Liner Square 9 Inch, 125 Pcs Large Square Air Fryer Paper Liners for 6-10QT Air fryer, Non-stick Parchment Paper for Frying, Baking, Cooking, Roasting and Microwave: Home & Kitchen

Ooops. Just saw this. Sorry. Here it is, but it's discontinued. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/bella-pro-series-4-qt-digital-air-fryer-matte-ink-blue/6461455.p?skuId=6461455

Actually got it on sale for $45 at the time. Now you can get much better ones, bigger ones, for much cheaper. Wish I had a 6qt. 4qt still works fine, but a bigger one would've allowed me to meal prep a little better and such. Will keep this one going. If I find a girl to settle down with, or this one dies, then might get something bigger. But as a single guy, this 4qt one works.
