I have. It was tasty, but it was really thin, which was weird when I'm used to store-bought stuff.Ag 11 said:
Anyone ever done the George Washington recipe? I'm thinking about trying that one out this year too

Tough to say, just make some and find out. I got tired of the pre-made taking up space in my fridge so last Christmas I made it earlier in the week but I cut the booze a little bit and tempered the egg-yolks. I put all the egg yolks and sugar in the blender and mixed them up. Once completely combined I added the booze, with the blender running I slowly poured in the heated cream/milk mixture, added some vanilla and nutmeg, that was it. I simmered a couple of cinnamon sticks in the liquid as well. The main issue with the Alton Brown nog is that it takes time to mellow out due to all the booze. If you cut it down some of it then it'll be good to go just about immediately.Chipotlemonger said:
Wanting to jump on this egg nog recipe this year, every year I get FOMO from people talking about it.
Would Labor Day be a good time to handle this? Would the flavors be pretty good come Thanksgiving time? Or would waiting hurt or help at all?
Good to know, this makes sense.Max Power said:Tough to say, just make some and find out. Just a made a batch of AB nog. Having a glass now. Can't wait to see what a little age does for it.

Decided the start of the college football season was the perfect time to whip up a batch of the AB eggnog.
Made a triple batch. Will give some away to friends and family around the holidays.
You're hiding the most important ingredients behind all the dairy, all I can tell is there's Bulleit involved.Absolute said:
