Can anyone find this lately? Appreciate any leads or offers you may have! (Houston)

I can't speak for Houston but I know of several places in Dallas that have it. You just have to ask and overpay. One place wanted $200, one place wanted $150. Sad the prices are so absurd

I love Blantons but refuse to pay that for a $50 bottle whiskey. F the neck beard losers, posers, scalpers and resellers that have absolutely ****ed bourbon for the rest of us who truly enjoy it.

Agree - this did not seem to be a problem just a few years ago...

Not sure if you've asked already, but there's a secondary market thread: https://texags.com/forums/67/topics/3129102/1

$200 at Memorial Liquor if you're desperate
I'm sure Sunny's in Katy has it for similar.
$100 from me if you don't mind a couple pours already missing
Supposed to be a Specs store pick this week but they are supposed to go down the call list, shouldn't be on a shelf

Very frustrating. In Germany I could get Blantons/Blantons Gold delivered to my doorstep for like 60 euro a bottle. Here it's tough to even find Weller these days.

I bought a bottle of that for a buddy of mine on his birthday about a decade ago, think it was like $45-$50 at the time. Oh how times change.

Blanton's isn't really that high up on my list of bourbons, but it is one of the few I can understand the demand for. It has a unique flavor profile that I haven't really had in other bourbons.

Spec's on Smith St dropped some today when they opened. I wasn't around, but I'm sure the line before opening was ridiculous.

Picked up these two last night in Houston. Another place had two more but I wasn't going to pay $199/bottle.

Best way seems to call the small mom and pop shops, even the ones in the not so nice neighborhood.

Yeah I ended up doing this and found for $170... still ridiculous, but in the future I'll have more time to work the phone - I think it's out there at more reasonable prices but have to time it right.

They had store picks at the downtown specs the day you posted the request.
There is a guy in baytown that can sell it to you for 110.
I personally don't think it's worth MSRP but different strokes different folks

Thanks! Yeah I just had brain surgery (maybe why I paid this much?? ) and was limited on my ability to get around! Things improving though!

I never tried it actually, but wanted to see what the hype is about. That's funny though.

If I'm being honest I'll admit I chased Blanton's early on when I was getting more serious about whiskey. Once I checked off Blanton's Gold and SFTB I didn't give it much thought again. I tried a pour of my SFTB last night. It just doesn't stand out in the crowd of good barrel proof bourbons. The ECBP I poured immediately after was much better and it wasn't even close. They are pretty bottles though. The only bottle design I find more appealing is the Old Fitzgerald BiB.

If we are all honest, we all had to have it. It was our very first bottle of bourbon years ago & was gifted to us. We were not even bourbon drinkers at the time - obviously - and it got us started on the journey.

I think Blantons is one of the better bourbons out there, but worth $50 - $60. At the cost it is now, don't waste your time.

In fact, I can't think of any bourbons that are worth more than that. I've tried most of the pappy's as well and honestly found them really underwhelming.

If OP is every in/near Dallas, I have a bottle I'll let go. Won't gouge, either.

Reading this thread makes me wonder what kind of establishments people visit, because I've never seen this at a price that I didn't think was retail, which is $65-$70.

I thought distributors/manufacturers looked down upon a store gouging? How does that store continue to get allocations?

What are SFTB and ECBP?

I've got a Wilderness Trace BIB bourbon I'm working through that is pretty solid. Right at that $50 price point.

When bourbon hit scotch prices, just switch to scotch folks.

Blanton's SFTB (Straight From The Barrel)... it's the Barrel proof version of Blanton's. It was only available overseas until this year... which means it's still pretty much only available overseas. ECBP = Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. Hard to find but not as hard as Blanton's. Probably the best bourbon on the market for the money.

I enjoy regular EC, so I'll have to be on the lookout for the BP. Thanks!
