Going to go look at them this weekend or next and see if I can convince her to go with the EVO. Definitely going to steal the cutting board idea over the power burner. Someone had mentioned that a while ago but I had forgotten about it.

Don't let her see the cost. There's an Aggie (Sam) that owns Creekstone Outdoors in Houston area that can hook you up on appliances even if you don't live there. He shipped them to me up in DFW and was much cheaper than everyone else.

Do you have his email? I think I emailed him a while back asking for vendor contacts in Denver.

Tell her it also acts as an oven with the lot on, great for pizza, etc.

I bought the Evo brackets to hang the lid on the wall after a couple of months of sitting it on the counter top. My counter isn't huge so it was pain losing all the space.

That said think of where you'll put the lid when cooking. Mine hangs with the handle about mid chest height on a wall a few feet away.

The lid isn't light weight. I would not mount the brackets until you've spent some time with it. Before I went with the brackets I considered using a pulley to just raise it. I backed off because I have no idea what the stuff situation is in the ceiling.
Staff - take out the trash.

Got the green light for the Evo, I'm going to play around with the design and see where to place it. Went to two places today and they literally contradicted themselves on where to place. One said to place in corner where egg is currently, other said to leave egg in corner and place Evo on the bottom end.

Search AggieSam (I think) on Texags and talk to him. Very knowledgeable and he will give you better deal than anyone else. I told him I hate cleaning stainless but love griddle and he told me about Evo and that he has one as well and recommends. Very glad I got one. So fun to cook on.

It's been a couple of years but my backyard $5-10K project is coming to a wrap. Needless to say it was many times more than that. Granite itself was about 8K. Patio structure was built last month, louvered pergola supposed to arrive next week.

I see an Egg. Decided against the Evo?

I already had the L egg and minimax. Wife vetoed the Evo because of $$$$, we opted for the Blaze griddle. I wish I had pushed back more because cleaning the griddle is a PITA.

The EVO is a ridiculously stupid design for a flat top. You're wife did you a favor regardless of money. Looking forward to seeing the final pics

Should've gone with the evo. It's only money
