How long do you want to ignore this user?
I am going to buy an electric meat grinder/stuffer. I don't want to go cheap, but I don't want to pay big money for something commercial grade. I see there are a lot of different brands on Amazon.

Any recommendations that fit what I am looking for?

LEM 3/4 HP for the grinder.
LEM 5# stainless steel sausage stuffer.

Whatever stuffer you get, make sure it has metal gears and not nylon. You will hate a stuffer with nylon gears.

I have a cabelas carnivore 3/4 and it's a beast. Agree with htown on the stuffer.

Full disclosure I don't own this one but I have had my eye on the meat your maker grinders.

Depends on what, how much and how often you make it. I have a 3/4 hp #22 grinder which is a hoss but they're not cheap....$600 or so...and both a 5# and a 15# stuffer. I am fixing to freeze about 28 links of dried sausage that I made Saturday a week ago. It's lost about 30%- 35% in weight. Make sure you have a range of plates from 1/8 up. Old timers around here swear you need to match each plate with it's own knife and keep them together.

Oiling the die and knife before you put it together is way more important.

I have a Weston #5, picked it up at Lowe's for ~$80-$100 a few years ago after I got tired of fighting with the KitchenAid attachment. I actually enjoy using this thing (a lot).

I just finished grinding up a smallish pork shoulder I bought yesterday ($0.99/pound at Kroger this week) and portioned 4# of plain ground pork to save for my green chile burgers that the kids love and the other 5# went to bulk Italian sausage. From first cut of the pork to final wipedown was less than an hour.

Whenever this thing decides to give up the ghost, I'll probably just go buy another. I use it a couple of times a month with typical batches from 5#-15#, but have done some much larger batches during hunting season.
