Random but there is a Liquor store on SH6 between Navasota and Hempstead attached to a Chevron station. It's the second one North of Hempstead on the east side. They were very well stocked today. Full compliment of Weller, Blantons, George T Stagg, and Stagg Jr. Prices looked quite high. Blanton's was $200. The GTS was $800 and I assume it's this year's. I did y catch any others, but thought people may want to know what's available in the wild. I've been well supplied by this thread and buddies for my 40th so I passed on everything.

Anyone know why the A batch of Michter's 10 bourbon is more sought after than the b-g batches?

There is a perception in online communities that the A barrels from this year are better. I've only had this year's M10B from A barrels (3 different bottles) and they've all been great, but I have no reference against other barrel series.

It's like a lot of other things in bourbon - usually better to take other opinions with a grain of salt, capitalize on perceptions if you want to, but drink the things you enjoy and don't get caught up in the hype.

I'll be in Galveston this weekend. Anyone have any Old Forester bottles they are looking to offload?

So how does this Spec's call thing actually work?

I go to the store and get told there is no list. Next time told there is a list but they don't currently have time to put me on said list. Go again and they put me on for 1 item and say they will enter my number for the others as apparently there is a separate list for each and every allocation (that's what they told me), but there is no way to verify this actually happens.

I have been a black level member for many years but have never been called for anything.
