Walked into a liquor store up here in rural NY and thought I was about to score until I saw the price stickers.

What's going secondary market rate for Blantons these days? I haven't looked in a couple years but my brother just asked me if I could get him some…6 bottles. Lol. In DFW if anyone has some they'd like to sell.

Beverage Depot on Samuel will happily sell you Blanton's for $150-200 (or so) a bottle.agcrock2005 said:Does anyone have any Blanton's available even at secondary?agcrock2005 said:

Agree with the above, I'd honestly just try to return them if you got them at a big box store and use the cash to buy a Stagg Jr at secondary.CTGilley said:
For what you paid retail for those bottles, you could likely get a bottle of Sjr on secondary.

I must be missing something.
I paid MSRP for each bottle, not secondary.
As I understand it, Stagg Jr. pulls $150+ on secondary (according to Bottle Blue Book).
I'm confused. Did I find unicorns while visiting family in west Texas?
No. It is just virtually impossible to trade up for bottles. Lots of people try to move readily available bottles for more desirable allocated bottles, but it almost never works. You're better off either returning the common bottles or selling for cash at retail price, and then using the cash to pay full secondary on the more desirable allocated bottles. And blue bottle book is not reliable or up to date. Facebook secondary groups dictate secondary value, and right now Stagg Jr. is ranging from $200 and up depending on batch.AggieBarstool said:

Lot of people use Facebook groups for the most up to date secondary values as it is real time.AggieBarstool said:
Oh, joy.
What do y'all use for estimating value?
I think it has been answered but I was thinking 1792 Full Proof (50 and really good), 1792 BiB (WB SP) (40 some people love it), 1792 Single Barrel (WB SP) (40), Henry McKenna 10 (40)AggieBarstool said:

My unicorn: Stagg Jr.
May be interested in other bottles -- make a suggestion!
Not looking to get raked over the coals or pay secondary, so if you have an extra bottle and want to trade for something I have, holler my way.
EDIT: Forgot to add, I also have a bottle of Buffalo Trace, 1L.
350-400. I didn't have the trades I mentioned earlier in this thread and bought one.CactusThomas said:
