Oddly, I thought one of ours was a LaC and used it last night to make gumbo. But it's Sur la Table, has a textured interior, and is harder to clean. Was a wedding gift.

Gumbo was delicious.

I was told by an individual who works in Purchasing at HEB that their Dutch Ovens are made by the same company (in China of course) that makes the William Sonoma Dutch Ovens.

I have no experience with WS Dutch ovens but I do have experience with WS products. We registered there for our wedding and literally everything WS brand that we got is junk.

That's a HARD pass for me.

No experience with WS products or Dutch ovens, but when dealing with China being made by the same company or facility is fairly meaningless.

My company has several private labe lines from China. I have also done a fair bit of research around the carbon bikes that come from there.

They will supply to whomever wants them, and to whatever price point the buyer specifies. Or in some cases cut whatever corner the buyer is not willing or knowledgeable enough to scrutinize.

We are doing this on Thursday.
FTR, this is what we got today. 2 Mystery Boxes, $100 total got us a pretty sweet haul. First pic below.

Oval platter
Casserole dish
4 plates
1 stockpot
4 pasta plates
Wine sealer
1 cappuccino cup and saucer
1 2 qt roasting pan lid (only came with the lid, planning to go back and exchange)

They had 8 qt oval dutch ovens (with the SS knob) for $189. 55% off.

This only happens in Dallas or do they move this from city to city?

City to city. They had one in Atlanta back in October.

The sale is going on until the 1st. Mystery boxes were yesterday only.

Great, now I'm obligated to tell my wife. Although we do need to figure out what sizes we need and don't have.

If you want the same performance but want to go even cheaper than Lodge at TJ Maxx, try Cocinaware at HEB.

Came here to post this. Ours has held up well. Had it for 7-8 years.

Pretty much replaced all of my cookware this weekend with Le Creuset. And no I'm not a wife in her first marriage.

Got extremely lucky today. Went to exchange the sole casserole lid with a complete casserole and they gave me another Mystery Box instead! Inside:

A 2.5 qt multifunction pan w/ lid
A 3 qt dutch oven
A 5.25 qt dutch oven.

The Kenmore set has served us well, but I think it's time to move on!

I wish the insides of our LCs still looked like those.
