Anyone have a good recipe for marinara from fresh tomatoes? I've got a ton from the garden this year and my wife and I want to make some sauce that we can freeze and use later.
Replace the onion with a clove or two of garlic, and you have a really good base sauce.Bruce Almighty said:
My base marinara:
Dice and saut an onion in some oil over med high.
Add 2 pounds diced tomatoes, salt and pepper.
Cook, stirring occasionally for about 15 minutes.
Add some chopped basil at the end.
This is our go to everything red sauce, though sometimes if we aren't in a hurry we just core the tomatoes and blister before crushing in the pan.SACR said:Replace the onion with a clove or two of garlic, and you have a really good base sauce.Bruce Almighty said:
