I will say that somethings taste bad, but to me this stuff is undrinkable. I was wondering about those who like it, was it an acquired taste or did you love it on first taste? Obviously somebody likes it or they wouldn't make it.

My feeling is that sometimes the things you end up liking the most are more of an acquired taste. I love ipas and sushi. There was a time I didn't like either but I built up to it.
quote:I have tried probably 20 different scotch distills - highland, lowland, Islay, Speyside....doesn't matter. None of them are for me. Glad others like them, but I just cannot find anything enjoyable about the distill myself.
I can certainly understand why a person wouldn't like scotch, and certainly those that are peaty, but I hope that you have tried some of the different kinds, because there is a huge difference between them.

I love peaty scotches and am a fan of Laphroaig 10, thoughI prefer Lagavulin or Talisker. I also didn't really work my way up to the peaty-ness, as my first scotch I ever had was Johnnie Walker Gold 18 year, which was a pretty smoky flavor for a blend. I think I was just predisposed to liking that peat and smoke flavor of the whisky.
