Yeah, frankly I'm not a fan of many of the Paso Cabs. The prevalent style just isn't my thing. I do like some other varietals from there.

Last night at Lotus of Siam: 2015 JJ Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese. Damn fine dining right there.

Certainly one of the best values in Napa right here. Took a 2018 bottle down to the beach this weekend along with a 2018 Maybach. This was much more approachable and was very well balanced. Less than half the price, too! And for those that know me, I freaking love Maybach.

And he's truly a nice guy. I prefer the Shiflett Ranch Proprietary Red though.

He's one of the best.

I've never had the prop red, believe it or not. I have plenty of them, I just haven't opened one yet. I think there is one planned to be opened later this year.

The Shifflett cab is really good, and probably is THE best value in Napa for a cab. This bottle was the Napa bottling from other vineyard sources (not Shifflett) and was about $75. I luckily loaded up on them.

As I've mentioned much premium Napa Cabs are just no longer my palate (Mike Smith, Maybach and the like) I know they get huge ratings and many people love them - I guess that's why there are so many different wines to drink!

The Prop red is CF and Merlot and much more what I drink now. Been through several, have more to drink!

Now there's a statement I never would have expected in the wine thread on the F&S board.

I finally decided to get back to the original title of this thread and cataloged my "cellar" today on CellarTracker. I'm not really one to write reviews and tasting notes or give ratings, but is anyone else on there to connect?

I ended up at 149 bottles without entering grocery store type sub $20 wine or a few champagnes that I know are going to be consumed this weekend. The restaurant style wine list it creates is awesome and that by itself is worth all of the effort it took to set it up.

I feel like their user community rankings are odd and too high for "low tier" wines but pretty low for some high end wines with 95+ point professional ratings. I'm also trying to wrap my mind around their community sourced drinking windows and bottle valuations to figure out if I should put any stock in to those at all.

Been using it for years.

Keeping current (i.e. remembering to consume bottles) is the challenge. Also only enter ageable bottles, and not daily drinkers.

I'm very cautious about reviews, to many are ostentatious displays of tasting prowess. As an average they're pretty good for determining if a wine is ready to drink.

I'd encourage you to go ahead and pay the suggested donation.

That would be cool. I've been reticent to do that for fear of being a shill. I've entered some of the wines, but most have been entered by others.

All the wine notes I enter are private and just general notes to go back and reference if I liked a bottle, etc

Had a really nice Cabernet Franc tonight with some homemade cast iron pizza. I may need to keep more cab Franc around to pair with pepperoni pizza, it was a perfect pairing.

Awesome bottle of wine!

Popped this open to go with the Sunday roast. Excellent wine, and drinking great right now!
