Trying a new (to me) varietal for the first time in at least a decade. Picked this up in some random wine club several years ago. Anyone ever tried it?

Can Pfeffer has extremely small production, have heard of it once or twice for the novelty of that in itself. How was it?
Not bad. It certainly changed over the course of the night. Initially it was very dry, not much fruit showing, and no length. Tasted very stemmy, so I am curious whether it was whole cluster. Now, 3 hours later, it is very fruity and has almost a grape jolly rancher level of sweetness to it. And the finish is long and peppery. Not sure I would seek it out, but I am pleasantly surprised.
the Enz vineyard is an old heritage site, isn't it?

Good stuff. I picked up a four pack of those from Last Bottle a couple of months ago. Tried one last week and really enjoyed it.
Best wine find ever for me…walked into total wine. 2012 kapcsandy estate labeled as the Endre. Took the 6 bottles for $70/bottle. Lol.cecil77 said:

Went to a tasting last night with reserve wine pairings. Overall I was a little disappointed in the wine selections given the price point, but this bottle was delicious.
Decided to get into this one from Celia Welch tonight. Very fruity and fresh for a 15 year old wine. Super long finish, I'm really enjoying it.
As of tonight I am sleeping with a 60 year old woman. Here's the celebration so far..
How was the botrytis? I still have one I'm waiting on to open.
Opened this tonight. It's massive, and is starting to show some of those earthy notes (mushroom, cocoa powder, soy sauce). If you still have some, I'd open them soon.

Place I went for dinner tonight in Winnetka IL had that one on their relatively small wine list. I almost sprung for it but wife decided she wanted cocktails so we went with glasses instead of a bottle.

Quite good. I've had several. Dan Gatlin also thought it very good. Enough acid to balance the sugar. Very light notes of botrytis. Chenin Blanc a great grape for the style. When I get by Calais (want the new Gravitas) I'll beg for some more, I've only one bottle left.
Picked up Realm and Pott 2019s this week. I had forgotten about those releases. Back to buying more European wines now…

No clue other than what's on their website. Sure seem like in Napa that $300 is the new $100 though...
Yes- website doesnt have much and random reaching out 3-4 years later. I'll buy it if a good investment to flip but no other info really out there.

I have had one of the '19's, not the Echezeaux, of course, but the Nuits St Georges Boudots. Big wine, but damn interesting. Agree the QPR on these is pretty good, even though they are not cheap wines

If someone offered me $250MM for a winery like Shafer, I'd have a hard time turning that down.
Thanks for the heads up. That pushed me over the edge to go ahead and order one. Can't wait to try it!
Does anyone have any recent experience with shipping times from Europe? I have an order from a winery in Montalcino that left Italy on 1/27, and it's still en route to the west coast distribution center.
