Anyone had the Garrison Brothers Single Barrel? Saw it at specs today for $89 which seemed pretty steep.

Super jealous. A Michters 10 is at the top of my wish list right now. Also want a Still Austin Red or Blue Corn, Penelope Toasted Marshmallow, and an EHT SiB.
I would stop drinking for a while to acquire a haul like that. Congrats man, those are some great bottles.

I saw some Single Barrel Cask Strength at Dallas Spec's yesterday, curious how those are. I haven't tried my TexAgs bottle yet.

It is a polarizing pour. some people really like it and find the price fine and others wouldn't drink it if it were $30. Im not a big GB fan but many folks here are.

Y'all, I just tried the EH Taylor barrel proof that I got a few days ago, and holy schnikeys it really is worth the hype. For sure one of the top whiskeys I've ever had.

I think so - it's a batch 13 or batch 10 (2021) because it's 127.3 proof

Opened up a Maker's Mark BRT-01 and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. My wife doesn't always like finished bourbon, but this one worked for her. We also tried a Penelope toasted, it was okay, she didn't really like it, but we will give it another go after it opens up a little.
I wasn't too crazy with Penelope Toasted either. Figured the same, let it breathe a little. I did get the Penelope Marshmallow Toast the other day. Not sure when I'll open that one (if I even do) but I hope it's better.

Picked up a few bottles over the weekend that I've been looking to get for a while…the staggs are 24B and 24D. The JD is a release from 2022 and it's whiskey finished with toasted pecan wood at 120 proof, it's outstanding. They had more bottle of it so I'll be heading back for some more at the end of the week now that I know it's a winner.
Buddy got me this over the holidays but I don't drink anymore.

That's quite a haul! I'm a fan of most things Michter's but their barrel strength rye may be my favorite expression. So good!
I got this one recently as well and I think it's amazing. Can't wait to get into it more.
I'm with you on that. I know the toasted rye is the popular choice, but the barrel strength slightly edges it out for me.

I've got an opened Red Corn from last year that I've only had two pours out of, if you're interested? In BCS and open to offers! I just wasn't a big fan of it.

Another reason its polarizing is because its single barrel. So someone saying they hate it may not be comparing the same barrel as someone saying they love it. In theory, the single barrels should be similar when released from same mash and vintage, but tastes will vary, sometimes greatly.
