Got in line in SA around noon, left because it was stupid long. Came back 3 hours later, and there's maybe 30 people between where I was and where I am now.
Buddy sold me his Old Granddad 16 and Michters Rye 10. He took home almost 20 bottles total.

Soooo… I just went super late. Pretty picked over. Just missed out on the OF 1924 by a hand length. Still sick to my stomach I missed that close. Lots of OF SiB, 4R, OGD16 spec's picks. Few Knob 18s too.
For what it's worth, I have seen OF1924 on a few most disappointing of 2024 lists. Probably bc of the hype behind it and price point, but still, I don't think you missed out on anything super spectacular.
I really, really enjoyed 1910 and 1920 so I've been really looking forward to it. One of those things where I'd never pay secondary, but if I had the opportunity at MSRP, it's going straight to the collection. Grabbed the single barrel pick and the rye, so I'm happy with that deal with being almost 8 hours late to the party. Good gauge for next year.
Locker Lineup for the night... might pull some big dogs out later on. We'll see how things go.....lol

Which location? I'm going to drop by Midtown location in Houston at 10am Monday once wife feels better from the flu.
Tater special. Probably waited 1-1/2 hours in SA and this was my haul. There was still a ton of stuff left around 5pm.

If you really like those you should give the 1915 a try. I think the sum is much better than the parts.
It's on the list to do! Wasn't planning on getting both those single barrels today so it'll wait a little. That 1915 bottle is awesome!

I was next to a guy in line, and he and his wife each got an OGD16. I asked him if he'd had it before, and he said it was very good, and compared the cost of that to other stuff I had in my basket. So WTH, I scampered back and grabbed one. Never seen one in the store, so maybe my only opportunity. I've heard a few negative comments, which is why I didn't grab it when I first passed it.
Well, crack it and give us an immediate review.

I think it's the price point. The feedback I hear is it would be good for a $125 or so bourbon but not a ~$200 bourbon.

They have not done it yet for the first time in a few years. And if it doesn't happen tonight, I expect it to happen shortly after Jan 1.

Stranahan's Mountain Angel 10 year American Single Malt picked up at lunch today, looking forward to this one.
It is an excellent bottle. They just released a 12 year that is distillery only, I believe,that I would love to get my hands on as well.
Will crack it on the 1st, $86 after tax was a good price point for a 10 year and I appreciate your feedback on ASM's
