I live in NC and the state runs all liquor stores. We have a decent selection of bourbons but it's pretty rare to find something allocated. When they do get allocated bottles, they'll put them on the shelf randomly. And they won't say when they are going to drop.

Got lucky today and found some on the shelf today. Picked up a Midwinter Nights Dram, ER and ECBP C924. Having seen those in a while.

Someone told me folks are already camped at smith st specs? I haven't even seen the big drop announcement - the Dallas tiltedbottle guy hinted it was coming, but I couldn't imagine blowing Christmas Day being homeless for booze

My friend is first in line. Wanted to beat the girls that always get first every year.

His kids aren't home for christmas this year and it's his only time he will likely be able to do it - so pulled the trigger and beat them.

I could never do it, though.

Happened to make an early run to Costco with the wife this morning. We checked out right before 10am so I told her "let's just hang around until the liquor store opens in about 5 mins"

Glad we did. Got one of the 3 bottles of Blanton's they had in stock this morning. Total Christmas Eve surprise and win. Although I was shocked to see retail price had jumped up to $86!

Spec's drop officially on the 28th. Was hoping for Friday to reduce the number of campers and weed out people that have to go to work. Hoping you can still show up morning of and get good stuff.
