Did a quick tasting last night of malted barley whiskeys. It was enlightening and enjoyable. The Clermont tastes much like hay and harsh compared to the others. The westwards are very good especially the cask strength. It is full of flavor and has a lot of chocolate notes. The Parker Heritage is also quite good. It is much more refined than the others the malted barely is much more subtle and has a more complex profile and long finish. Is it a worth the price tag ($180) prolly not, but worth having a pour yes. Fly to Raleigh and I'll give you one.
