I've had bottles of Eagle Rare before. I really enjoy it, especially if I can get it for the price I just did.

I've only had a pour of Weller 12 at a restaurant in College Station. It was good, but I think I like the Antique 107 more. However, I've been seeing the 12s go for north of $200 in multiple places across the Brazos Valley. So, when I saw it for half that, I snagged one.

Then, the Wild Turkey Rare Breed has just been on my list to try. It's become fairly common on my hunts - similar to the Elijah Craig Toasted Barrels. I just wanted a bottle to have at home. I haven't ever been a massive fan of Turkey products, but I'd been hearing/reading interesting things about the bottle so I indexed on it at $55.

It's a pretty decent amount and there's a good bourbon crowd. They just changed the process back in March for allocated whiskey though. They release the 3rd Saturday of the month at various stores and post the inventory online for "fairness". But it used to be amazing. A group of us knew the delivery and drop days at stores and in any given year would get 6-8 Staggs, tons of Eagle Rare/Blantons/EH Taylor. Bunch of other stuff too. Unfortunately the new process put a stop to that. Stuff like ECBP will sit on the shelves for a while. Everything is at MSRP. Pros and cons.

similar to what happened in VA. back in the day if you knew the delivery day for your store you could just shown up at 10 and grab whatever. Then folks found out people working at the central distributor were tipping their buddies off on the big stuff.

Some folks went to jail and they swapped to a lottery/drops system. earlier this year, after i left, the somewhat reverted back to the old system. No idea how that is working out.
