Finally got to visit OLC on our way through Austin and had a nice chat with Raju. That is a very dangerous place for the wallet. So much nice stuff. Picked up a few goodies:

I picked up 8 bottles of RR15 utilizing a network of non-bourbon drinking friends in various states.

You really got to think outside the box for these drops in order to obtain these allocations.

OGD 114 is great. Mix it half and half with Buffalo Trace and it's fantastic.

If you are going to be in BCS this weekend, come join us at the monthly meeting for The Brazos Valley Bourbon Society. Saturday, Rough Draught, 6pm. I've been told that our blind tasting this month is all barrel proof so it should be a good one!

Where you hearing that? It was rumored years ago, and it got hard to find for a while, but haven't heard anything recently. And I keep a couple bottles in the cabinet, goes really well with lemonade in the summer for a refreshing sipper…and it's great for the price point. Oh and love the bottle/cork shape.

This seems like a say something nice about your friend list and some of the choices are terrible imo.

Hudson whiskey is dog*****

While i very much enjoy Lineage and 1 from Balcones (and have multiple bottles of each) the regular bourbon is not very good. there is a reason they pivoted away from it.

OGD114 and RR are both loved and very much talked about and are by no means underrated.

It maybe true, I just hadn't heard it anywhere. I'll have to do some digging. Hoping it's the every few years rumors and it's not true again. Not the best whiskey ever, but definitely worth having around.

Perfect. I'm cool with old tub going away. That is one of the lowest rated budget whiskeys my club has ever done. I may have to grab a case of 114 just in case what's $125 for a case of known good whiskey…have definitely spent more for worse.

Unfortunately, to the extent of my knowledge, Pappy has made it to Texas, but has yet to appear in Dallas. Either that, or a lot of people are lying to me. I found a bottle of the 20 last week, but it's not part of this fall's allotment. (That bottle is not in the picture.)

On a related note, I highly advise any whiskey aficionado in Las Vegas to visit Delmonico's in the Venetian. 50 or so bourbons, 15-18 ryes, all the PVW, the elusive Old Rip 23, on and on. Also, a ton of scotches, but I'm not well-versed on scotch and this is not the scotch thread.

Old flub disappearing is fine by me! It was a fail that got hot at the start but man it's not good. And a case or two of OGD 114 is good to have just because.

Out of staters, Please identify someone who can pick up the bottle in SA/HOU/BCS/DFW/AUS and ship it to you.
