How is this one? I've got one stashed away that I need to open. Can you tell the difference between this and the regular ECTB?

I can always spot EHT in a blind by the dimatap or grape snow cone syrup flavor

Had some time to kill on the road in north Houston today so I stopped at the Spec's in Spring right off 45 to do some browsing. I ended buying a Rebecca Creek Double Barrel Spanish Oak because it was only $45, and I still haven't had one. I know a couple of yall have spoken very highly of it.
More interestingly though, they had a Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye store pick. I hadn't seen one of those in a while so I grabbed it, as well.

Damn that Spanish Oak is delicious & much cheaper than they were previously selling it for. Last I saw it was around 65 msrp.

Jack SBBP is typically a very good pour. I love that they typically release some in 375 size too so I can test without getting too far deep.
Doing a tasting of Pinhook bourbon vertical 5-8yr tonight with my neighborhood club. Should be an interesting look at year to year aging of the same juice.
That's really cool.
Just received some good news from OLC about RC Spanish Oak.
Hoping to set aside the leftovers in smaller bottles so we can do it again next year with the 9yr and so on until the 12yr.

I may have gotten lucky. There wasn't a sticker on the shelf so I asked an employee about the price, and they told me $45 so I snatched it.
They also had a Garrison Bros Balmorhea behind the counter with a $77 sticker on it. It was the price for the bottle next to it, and the price check came back at $165. I would have bought 3 if that first number would have been real.
Seems like a store whose negligence and guesswork could be advantageous.
I don't care for that JD bottle at all, but the Rye is nice

$165 is the cheapest I've heard. Normally I see it for $189 or so.
