Picked up the last bottle of the Elijah Craig Private Barrel store pick at the Spec's on Rock Prairie this morning.
Figured there was no way there'd still be any left, and the girl at the register said she was pretty sure they'd sold out. I did a courtesy walk down the aisle and found one more. It was pricey, but I'll stretch a little more for store picks.
Also, the big Spec's on Texas is completely out of the Ben Holladay Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Proof. There's a label on the shelf but no bottles there or in the back.

If you like that Michter's American, try the Bourbon. Same mashbill, but the American uses used barrels as opposed to the new barrels the bourbon needs. Takes the flavors, proof, and mouthfeel and pumps them all up a bit.
Wish I would have known about this sooner.
I feel like the American is closer to the '23 M10B though. Really enjoy it. The bourbon is fantastic as well. Can't go wrong with anything from Michter's

That's interesting. Makes sense on one hand considering the same mash bill, but most of the 2023 m10 bourbon was closer to 15 years old or more, so you'd expect more of the wood influence.
