Might have an inside track on a Blanton's Straight from the Barrel. I'm not a huge fan of regular Blanton's (it's fine, but I think there are better bottles at that price point), but I've heard really good stuff about the Straight from the Barrel offerings.

I've passed on that bottle twice now at decent price points. Every Garrison Bros I've had has been super, over the top oaky. You've gotta really be in the mood for it. I did like the Honeydew bottle I had, but that may have been because it's just a honey bomb at lower proof.
You got any notes on the Guadaloupe? Finished bourbons have been very hit and miss with me so far.

This is delicious stuff. Had a buddy living in Japan for a while and this is one of the two things I asked him to bring back for me.

I was in Tokyo in March and brought back a SFtB and a Wild Turkey 12. Japan is starting to understand the secondary pricing though…

I wish! This is the last of it. I'm on my last flask of the original Balmorhea too. The nose is like sweet tea in a glass. These originals were so good.
Haven't had either specifically, but maker's picks are just different combinations of stave finishing. Typically nothing super special about them unless you're able to try and find that you really enjoy it. Some of the total wine picks this past year were pretty poorly reviewed, fwiw
