The ladies at Space Liquor in Bryan were much easier to talk to, and they had this in the back for a very reasonable price. I didn't have one at home so I pulled the trigger.
I'll add them to my list of stops when I make my rounds. They don't have much on the shelf, and they keep their allocated stuff in the back. Like I said though, they were friendly, and the prices on their more expensive stuff were fair.

Has Stagg Jr changed over time? Back when it was readily available on the shelf for $65, I picked it up a couple of times and basically just used it to melt people's faces off at 65% abv. It was pretty good, but that's it. I cannot fathom paying hundreds for it on secondary unless something seriously changed.
I think it's the best bang for the buck at retail.
I'm interested what is considered reasonable as well

At retail is basically a fairy tale these days. RHF for $50 or ORVW at $80 msrp, that's insane bang for your buck. I did actually get ORVW for that at a Costco drawing one time. I'll never get lucky again.
I'm still waiting to pop open my Stagg Single Barrel Select. Don't know when quite yet.

I wouldn't call Space Liquor a honey hole, at least not based on the description I got from the ladies working in there. They said they don't get much allocation and will keep it in the back for anyone that asks.
For the sake of the store, I won't give away the price on that bottle of Stagg Jr. I thought it was very fair.

Seeing the same thing in Houston. Lots of Stagg behind the register if you are willing to ask and pay $100 (2X MSRP).
Pretty sure msrp is in the $70-80 range now. Most of the BT products for a bump this year. Either way, I'll buy Stagg at $100 every day of the week!
They just have changed because they're awesome bottles. Oldest one I've had is Batch 15, but I haven't had a bad one yet. 18, 22b, and 22a were all stellar. I've heard 23c puts all of those to shame.

Y'all are right... MSRP is $70, I don't feel as scammed. Still not bragging to the wife lol. I purchased 2 bottles of 23c from the same shop at different times (1 months between purchases). Gifted 1 and kept the other, I am hearing good things about the lower proof.
Where in Houston can you find it for $100. I've never had it and would love to snag one.

I did a batch 1-17 blind last year. It was a pretty cool experience.
Batches 1-8 were pretty hot. 9-15 were really good. 16+ and started to fall off for me.
