Went into Total Wine just to browse. I have two bottles of Digits but they're both autographed by Scottie Pippen so I've been hesitant to open them. Saw this one for $25 less than what I've seen it before and it was even $20 cheaper than what it was listed on the TW app so I had to grab it. And I'm a sucker so as soon as I saw the Tres Hombres I had to get it. I'm a big ZZ Top fan but I didn't know it existed before today.

Question: how many bottles of bourbon do you have and how many different ones are open?

Well I ask because I have unopened bottles of bourbon and I wanna open them but will I have too many open at once?

It depends on how fast you go through them. We usually go through a bottle a month (counting a couple of pours for visitors). So we usually only have about 8-10 bottles open at a given time. The special bottles for special occasions usually last us about 2 years (we find reasons to have a pour here and there).

I have 5 bottles open right now (bourbon wise)

CYPB, ORVW, ECBP, 2022 Laguna Madre and 2022 Cowboy Bourbon

~60 with about half opened. The stuff on my counter was all got either during or after my trip to Kentucky this past April. I brought home 8 bottles I need to clear out the cabinet in the background which is my proper Bourbon babies "home"

I've never bought a bottle that I did not intend on opening and sharing with family, friends, and fellow Ags!

And I only really only got started into Bourbon, Christmas before last when my son brought me home a Blanton's SP down from Maine.

Fast forward 1.5 years and many $$$ later

He's addicted.

Probably a dozen bottles open because I like to change it up most of the time. I have no idea how many I've collected over the past nearly 2 years. Anything unopened is only unopened because I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm starting to find the stuff that I really enjoy and will end up buying/opening a bottle of my go tos before I open something "new". My wife limited me to buying 5 bottles this year due to space and with all the TexAgs picks I've only got 1 left.

TLDR: I have a problem, someone come help drink my bourbon

I have no idea for either. 250+ bottles, and if we exclude duplicates of store picks I've done and a few other store pick duplicates, probably 75% are open?

Just did a blind tasting with a couple people. Bardstown origin white label vs. Blantons….. everyone picked Bardstown over blantons. Obviously blantons being single barrel it could change per bottle but I was shocked. One bottle is readily available and one isn't. For my palate the Bardstown is a hell of a buy for $40

Honestly not shocking. Bourbon enthusiasts will hardly reach for a blantons single barrel.

Fun to have with non bourbon drinkers because it's 93 proof and has a beautiful horse on top

Blanton's is just boring to me. If someone offers it, I'll drink it but it's never going to be my first choice.

I have 120bottles give or take and roughly 60 open. Some are duplicates but not too many. Never know what you might be feeling in a given night.

200-250 open, probably 100 unopen.

I was told here that anything more than 70 bottles on hand is unnecessary…
