I think they'll open more Texas inventory today. They basically said they were for everyone. Just keep an eye on it.

For the record, if it says unavailable, that could mean that it's just sold out and could open back up or it's not actually available in that state. But for the most part, it seems like they were available in most states that weren't ABC run states.

Father's Day Weekend shaping up to be a good one. I've heard good things about B523!

Cheers!

The SO itself was probably sourced from TX.
I was curious so I had a conversation with the Rebecca Creek Master Distiller about where the Spanish Oak was sourced from.

The barrels are from a out of state cooperage and the wood came from Spain. Quercus Robur is the species of Oak, Which basically is a French Oak grown in Spain. The Trees typically take 120 years to mature before they are ready to harvest and when grown in the hotter and drier climate of Spain the wood becomes even more porous and prone to leaks. That first 4 years of aging in the Spanish oak is really what gives the Spanish oak double barrel its distinctive taste and aroma.

He recommended a book called Cask Management by Matt Strickland and said it was very informative.

Looks like Bowman should start appearing in stores for y'all pretty soon if it being on shelves up here is any indication.

Has ECBP B523 made it to Texas yet?

I usually see ECBP and Larceny arrive together in Texas. I picked up a Larceny today so maybe its dropping.

Mash and Drum leaving a glowing review on the Larceny B523. I'm definitely cracking this Saturday.

Breaking Bourbon gave the B523 a fantastic review as well - please let us know what you think when you crack her open!

Is Larceny a different mashbill than EC?

Careful the Mash and Drum also said that the Stagg (19) (which you said was terrible) was better than the batch 15 and up there with batch 12. I hope the Larceny's a good pour for you! I'm hoping to find one too or at least an ECBP.

Yes. Larceny is a Wheater. 20% Wheat

vs EC using a bourbon mash bill

And what is the heaven hill mash bill?
Really don't care for that one.

Love EC BP
Have yet to find a Larceny BP on the shelf, may start seeking.

ECBP was one of my "gateway" bottles that got me into the bourbon world. It's amazing for the price point and overall pour. I always have one on deck. But as you said, I am not a Heaven Hill BiB fan at all.

I'm just starting to get into Larceny. I think they have been making great batches recently that people seem to enjoy.

If you find another I'd like to get my hands on one. Have not had as much time to run around hunting recently.

I found the small batch on a shelf last week in DFW. I was a bit surprised because I had never noticed it before.

The small batch is an excellent bottle for 30 bucks. Thankfully it's everywhere here and is my go to at that price point.

Have you ever used hole hunter dot com?

It gets updated regularly. Looks like quite a few honey holes down there.

It's freaking awesome. I'm 1/2 through a bottle and keep making up reasons to go back to it

Really want to crack it tonight but I'll wait for gramps

Black Mirror Season 6 just released. Time to hit the sauce and binge watch.

So much better than the other offerings and I like regular larceny personally. This has a touch of a WLW profile to it in my opinion

Now going question everything about our existence when you watch Black Mirror

Why would a store pick for Total wine be at a crazy small town liquor store no where near a total wine? Saw 5 bottles of Four roses single barrel barrel strength total wine store pick on the shelf at a super small LS.

OLC had a Father's Day scavenger hunt.

I'm being told that this is the highest proof in the Rebecca Creek 16 lineup! Wow!
