I saw the KC12 on the shelf today. How does that compare to the KC9 Single Barrel Reserve? Worth the $73?

I took a chance. Hope it's good.
If you don't, you can probably offload it onto Marathon!
Haha I have a 2022 that I haven't even cracked yet.
Glad to see more people coming around to GB. It took me awhile to appreciate it. Just got bored of what was coming out of Kentucky and wanted to explore. Their Single Barrel Casks Strengths are what sold me.
What is nice, is that I really like it and there's a lot of people who don't. Makes it easier to find and enjoy.

I like it but it's overpriced and there are better 100 proofers with lower age statement

Personally, I enjoyed the KC9 way more and can't stand the KC12. I may be a minority opinion on that.

GB has so much controversy around it that I can't help but think it's mostly due to the MSRP. I would have had a hard time opening the Cowboy without your sample but I'm glad I did. Still haven't branched out into other GB products but it was a damn fine first foray in.

I was hoping for that. Need to slow down drinking my bottle of the latter.FTAC2011 said:MarathonAg12 said:

I think it may be a large minority. I've heard the same from several people. To answer the original to me, unfortunately I have not tried any KC 12 or even 10.
But thanks for making me do what I just didSo what I do have is that KC9 SBR and a KC "long 9" SBS.
Sooo... I had to do a tasting because ... well ... just because.
Both 9 year old KC @ 120 proof! The SBR had a heavier oak nose but both were close to the same profile front to back.
winner? ME! They were both great. I'd buy and drink either at MSRP any day.

This issue with GB is that for many years it was absolutely terrible. Very high price for grassy, over distilled bourdon. They supposedly have improved their products, but I have a difficult time justifying the cost when I can purchase other bourdons at the same, or even less money, that I know are excellent.MediAg13 said:MarathonAg12 said:wmitchell said:BrokeAssAggie said:

I have a bottle of GB sitting on my bar that someone purchased for us about 6 years ago. I was hoping that it had improved from the initial iterations. Even mixed with something, it was ... not good. So I will leave GB products for others to enjoy.
It's probably not fair but I bought a bottle of that and it turned me off of GB completely. I do think price factors into the formula cuz there are so many other excellent options for even half the price. That said, even if it was $20 I wouldn't buy it.digging tunnels said:
