I don't mind sweet but the maple has me wondering. I honestly haven't heard a bad review. I'm a big fan of the WJ10 now, which I didn't actually like when I first had it.

I love WJ in general. The decandence was good, but did not know if it was +$30-40 better than the normal WJ. If you love maple, then probably.... but i'm not a big maple person so for me, I just stick with the normal WJ...which is amazing.

I really want to get my hands on the 13 or 14 year ones to sample.

that's a great price then. I got one at specs for 99.99. Not a knock on it at all... really enjoyed it, but did not have the value difference in the bottle for me

I poured him a sample of the RC16. He tried it last night and said it was damn good.

Oh wow I didn't know it was TSA compliant. Nice. I've held off on these for the longest time but I didn't know that they were this high quality until seeing it in person. And at $38.99, with a case….I'm a couple pours away this evening from buying it.

The airlines do get touchy when you're consuming alcohol you brought on board. Technically you're not allowed to consume outside alcohol. I've had a bottle of vodka from the duty free confiscated for the flight because it was about to start being passed around the cabin to other passengers. It was just a light scolding and I was already 3 or 4 bloody Marys deep.

I would guess anything worth bringing along on a flight in something like that isn't going to be passed around the cabin. Who knows though. People spend a ton of money on a ton of **** that they don't need.

At least it's better than whiskey stones?

Yeah, mine was more for the hotel room or perhaps you want to share a pour with family or work friends. The hotels I stay at for work never have anything good haha

I love the bottles for tastings with friends. I don't have to pack a bunch of bottles and they are large enough for multiple people to share. Also great for blind tastings. I typically label them A,B,C etc and note which bottle corresponds.

FYI, to anybody wondering, these are quality. I have these as well as the travel decanter (when it was on kickstarter). Very happy with them all.

I take these with me on the road all the time. The glass fits snuggly inside the case, and when you put the bottle inside, there's no movement. Very secure.

Honest advice, go off the beaten path a little and try some of the small distilleries. I'll try to get the names but my buddy did this and had a great time. Very cool bottling experiences and no crazy lines.

And if you think about it, that whole dang state and the climate there makes some of the world's best bourbon. A lot of good juice up there. Hope you find something good!
