I actually am just over the grand reserve line and I got a birthday bourbon this year. I am about 35,000 points right now but at the time I think I was in the high 20s.jetch17 said:

You really don't spend that much money if you use the 10 X multipliers that are constantly out there for wine. I spend about $250-$300 in wine every year and get it. And then if I purchase bourbon or beer or anything else that just goes on top of it
Yeah maybe new location.. my first year and I have received Blantons, WFP and OF10. 95K points. I have also attended several of their classes. Not sure if that matters at all.
That sounds great and all, but I also don't want to drive to another city unless it's for something crazy.

Absolute 100% truth. This evaluation stands true for every store. Found bookers for the first time in2 years last week at specs. And haven't seen many other items in 4-5 years.

I've been close to 200k points each of the last 2 years and have won nothing. Previous 2 years I never broke 60k and got 4 bottles. I'm thinking it might not matter how many points you get, despite what they say.

I have an account with TW. I don't really use it. I guess I need to shoot for the min for GR. Is this based on annual spending or rolling? I don't drink wine wife does. If I can find something she wants, that's a game changer.
They mostly have rum others don't carry, which is big for tiki. Specs sucks ****, haven't seen much out of them forever, they don't differentiate from private/commercial. Used to get some mid tier stuff.

I made Grand Reserve earlier this spring for the first time and the first chance I got, I won a Blanton's. Luck of the draw perhaps

It's annual spending. Resets every year. A reason why some people don't love it - they like the specs idea of overall spending and not resetting
How much are you guys spending every year to reach GR? Spending $50 week seems like a lot, but are most people buying things that are 5x points?
It's the 10x points for buying wine that gets you the GR quickly. I think I buy 6 bottles of wine twice a year and then the rest of the points come from my bourbon purchases.
I try to hit just a little over to be eligible for the allocated drawings, but most of my purchases have now gone to 2 local stores that I have established relationships with.

Yeah the 10x gets you there quick - esp now that they pretty much run it monthly instead of every few like they used to do

The only bottle I can think of in that price range that's readily available would be a Bardstown discovery series. I'm not sure how good the latest release is, but I loved the series #4. They typically cost about $130.

depending on their preference secondary may be the best option at that price point.

I would do OWA on secondary. Easily within that price range and someone has one.
I was going to recommend Calumet 15 or 16 but discover would be good as well.
I buy a lot of wine and use the 10X points every month. I am a little over 700,000 points this year and will probably finish north of 800K points. I won something on all but the first raffle I did last year. We'll see if I get anything in the March Pappy raffle.

LOL that could certainly point to number 4 as well lol.
We do entertain quite a bit, but mostly just been into wine for a long time and like to buy stuff to enjoy regularly and put away. I run a business here in town and like to support other local businesses as often as I can if I like their management.
