Alright bourbon board, what's on the menu tonight?

I've been making whiskey smashes for everyone at my party with some Makers 101. Didn't really care to drink beer tonight but wanted something a little more refreshing than just drinking it straight.

I cracked open a bottle of Still. I like it.

The metal can stuff? Is it really any good?

I am working on a bottle of Jack triple mash, and enjoying it.

Not a whole lot of discussion on here for Barrell's various bourbons. Some of my fav stuff. So I thought I'd pour (let my wife pour) a blind of the 4 bottles of Barrell I currently have open:

This was hard.


Vantage is an enigma. I could pick it out right away bc the various oak finishes. Great pour. Unique for Barrell, a divergence from their profile.

NY bottles are just delicious. I can't say enough. It's my fav Barrell release every year.

B33 gets a ton of love. The butter scotch and baking spice run it hot and it has that typical long Barrell finish.

I could prob do this again and results may change. It was fun.

Wouldn't hesitate to buy any of these bottles again. And I likely will try to find another NY22 soon before it's poof gone

I loved NY21 but haven't opened 22 and haven't seen 23 yet.

Another drop in VA today at the store across the street from my work. I left pretty much immediately and by the time I got there the Stagg and EHT single barrel were both gone. Guess my email was slightly delayed. Ended up with a bottle of Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel as a consolation prize.

Edit - went ahead an opened up the bottle. Its better than i was expecting, though as someone who doesn't really care for the small batch i wasn't expecting much. There is certainly a chocolate note to the taste, somewhat like a smores i'd say but not really much after that. I dont regret buying it but its not something i would hunt for when 1910 is easy enough to fine at msrp.

The Maine statewide allocated lottery is going on now. If your son has a Maine driver's license he should be able to register.
