Back up to Portsmouth today. Went by Liars Bench Beer Companyfor lunch. I had a "Shy Baby" which they described as a Ruby Grisette. The server didn't know much about it because he just started (the brewers were in the back, I could smell the boiling wort). It was in a can so I couldn't get a sample but I took a chance on it and it was good. Pretty sure just a standard grisette with a little caramel malt. Wifey had an American IPA called "Bermuda Tatoo" that was really nice. Walked across the tracks to Great Rhythm Brewing Company and we both had a "Resonation Pale Ale". It was as aight but they have a nice Biergarten overlooking a tidal pond.
Swung by the bottle shop on the way home for some wine and grabbed a 4pk of "Double Thunder Funk" from Bent Water Brewing in Lynn MA. I have had it several times but I have to admit that I'm a ***** for sexy labels.





Strolled down to the local night spot for a dinner and trivia. Got a Stoneface IPA which is pretty ubiquitous in this area and damned solid.

Went to my cousin's house a few blocks away. She gave me this. I couldn't find a date on the can but I think it had a few months on it still good.

You know the quality of the beer is probably low when they try so hard to fit the branding to a driving range. Last time I came out here they had Pizza Port Swamis IPA, but no such luck today.

I've never seen it in Vegas, but apparently they started distributing there earlier this year. Here is there list of spots to look for it. I can't vouch for any of this personally though.

Dragoon Brewing in Tucson. The IPA is really good. Dank and malty. A good change of pace from clear west coast IPAs.

It is hot as balls anytime you go outside here, but the A/C is good in this place.

Nice here today. Topped out at about 80. We felt like a road trip so we put the top down on the Jeep and drove up to Maine. Stopped at Nonesuch River Brewing in Scarborough for lunch which is about an hour away. They have a beautiful building. I had an IPA 2.0 with my Fish Sandwich, Wifey got a flight with her Cobb Salad. All the beers were good but the Stout on her beer flight was outstanding. We left there and headed north a ways to Modestman Brewing in South Portland. I have been pimping this brewery since I graced y'all with my presence on this thread last winter. They opened this venue last fall and are not brewing yet but they have have the equipment. I had a The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World, Wifey had a For Doz That Slept. Both IINEIPAs and both delicious. We left there and took the slow way back home down Route 1 intending to stop at another brewery along the way. We drove right past 8 or 10 but made it all the home without stopping. I grabbed a Soundcheck from Great Rhythm out of the beer fridge but I'm not a huge fan of Simcoe hops. Now for the snaps.

Been raining all afternoon = stout weather.

Damn. You can get Blind Pig in Munich, but not Texas.

One of my recent coaltrain pickups. Damn I love this beer.

It's a guys trip and there are 4 of us. We got put on standby for the 12:30 flight but we were around 40 on the list so we scrapped that plan and are now currently outside of Denver. We should be in Whitefish early tomorrow morning.

It'll be a story at least.

A little cool with occasional rain today. We headed a little north to Somersworth NH. Went to Earth Eagle Brewings. This is an interesting place. It started out as a homebrew shop in Portsmouth. He got a 1 barrel system and started selling beer back in 2002. Most of the beers he made back then were Gruits (rhymes with fruit) which are ancient beers flavored with herbs other than hops. He purchased a 5 barrel system and moved the homebrew shop and the brewery itself up to Somersworth about 4 years ago. In the last couple of years he opened his tap room and restaurant. Wifey and I both got flights with our Frito Pies. If you zoom in on the pic, I had #s 2,6,7 and 10. Wifey had 1,5,8 and 12. I had the strawberry sour for desert. The beers were fair to good with the Rye Hefeweizen being a standout for me and Wifey liked the Hazy. Left there in a rainstorm and swung by Loaded Question Brewery back in Portsmouth. I had TuNotorious west coast style IPA, Wifey had a Just Lucky NEIPA. Both were just OK.

27 hours straight through. Grabbed some lunch, jumped in the lake to wake back up and now at one of my favorite places in the world Bonsai.

Totally worth it.
