Back in Solvang
While out running errands we decided to stop by Smuttynose Brewery for a beer and a snack. I had their Big-A dipa which they just just brought back for their 30th anniversary. Also had Gridlock hazy IPA from Five Boroughs Brewery which Smuttynose acquired back in November. Wifey had a Big-A as well and their Robust Porter.

While I appreciate the conviction to only make the beer you want to make, in a business sense you are really painting yourself into a small corner by not offering the most popular craft beer styles.

Agreed, it's hard to ignore the IPA wave. It continues to take share of other styles.
Carney's still has the Mango Cart. Just a lovely fruity beer. Good for one or two. Probably two sweet for any more

Wifey was getting her hair did in Amesbury MA. This little town of about 15000 people (guessing) has four breweries decided to hop on my bike and ride the 9 or so miles and meet her for lunch. Stopped in at Outrider Beer Company. Needed something light and refreshing after my ride so started off with a 5.3% Sour Saison. Finished with an English Pub ale with osmanthus flower and a burger. Both beers were great. Wifey got More Alike NEIPA. Which was sooooooo dank.

Saint Arnold's 30th Rare Barrel event today was solid. Lots of great beers and the 30th Grand Cru is badass. Only actual downside was at some point in the last few days they changed the bottle that came with it from BBA Barleywine to a version of Christmas Ale with various fruits and brett. Apparently they sold the barleywine yesterday. Folks were less than thrilled with that.
Paying homage to SoTxAgs campsite pic. Rainy Sunday so I invited some cousins over for beahz and nachos. This is just a small part of the damage.

I had lunch at Pizza Port today because I saw they had Slap & Tumble from X Brewing (out of Anaheim) on tap, which is unusual. This beer won last year's Alpha King at GABF.
Then I went to Texas Wine & Spirits a few blocks down and found out that X has started canning this beer. Very good West Coast DIPA.

Odyssey mixed culture beer. A Collaboration between Branch and Blade Brewing and River Styx Brewing.
This beer is absolutely delicious. It has the perfect amount of funk and is nicely tart. It has a nice oakiness and that pineapple and barnyard flavor you get from Brett beers. I don't even remember where i got it but it's been in the bottom of the beer fridge at least a year. Sadly River Styx Brewing is out of business now. It kind of reminds me of Oceans Between Us from Great Raft (which I love) but is a notch above it.

For a second I thought you were talking about Kaeden lol. Then I realized it was the griddy kid. To be fair I've been known to also rip my shirt off at football games.
I'll actually be in Omaha Sunday/Monday. Will for sure catch an A&M game on Monday.

Yep. Rolling in Sunday night, then I'll be there all day Monday, and rolling out Tuesday for Madison.
May also catch a game on the way back depending on how things go.
