So I'm probably going to get assassinated for this, but is anyone else getting sick of the heavy bourbon barrel aged stuff? It seems like it's been so cold for so long that Stout Season never ended. It's like the Narnia of beer.

I want 100 Degrees, pools, and IPA's dagnabbit!!!!

You guys and your "seasons." My tastes don't really change with the weather. My "stout season" is about to begin when Game of Thrones comes back.

I also don't really enjoy IPA's in hot weather. They are typically too high in alcohol and I find the bitterness to be cloying. I drink a ton of Kolsch, Pilsner, Hef, and Wit during the summer. But I still like to have a stout with BBQ or after a big dinner.

I've got a buddy who is about to open a bottle shop Nassau Bay southeast of Houston. They'll be open in the next few months. They're going to be beer only. They're also going to do a beer club that gets you growler fills and selections from their club only section. Here's their website. I'm looking forward to them opening. It sounds like it has a lot of potential to me.

Agreed...I don't want a stout or an IPA on a hot Texas day if I am outside. Give me a gose or a pils. However, I do have a nice A/C unit in the house, so, it's always stout season...

Not my fault the breweries only release the heavy duty stuff in the winter. I'm just burned out on 9%+ ABV beers where I have one and wind up with a headache the next day. I fully intend on cashing in on the Session IPA trend we're seeing this year.

And how can you jokers not love a Deschutes Fresh Squeezed after mowing the lawn in July?

Amen to all of the above. My current favorites are FW Easy Jack and NB Slow Ride/Session IPA (On that note, I like the Oasis Slow Ride as well, but naming litigation aside I like the NB one more).

After a few gameday naps during the last two football seasons, I think I will finally be switching over to session IPAs during football season.

I've tried several goses and have yet to find one I like. I guess I'll stick to kolschs for the summer.

I haven't had a session ipa that I am in love with yet. Anyone find one that can stand up to their favorite IPAs?

Looks like bottle shares will be at a new location. Lot H parking is gone 2 days prior to our selection appointment.

Really wish it wasn't Easter weekend.

Anyone been to Nine Bands in Allen yet? Their Pale Ale is pretty good, but I wasnt impressed by their Barleywine. I'm not a huge fan of that style though.

FYI, Lone Pint tap takeover at Harvey Washbagers tonight. Enjoying one of their beers right now.
