I think we could do bidness if I can acquire another bottle and no one down there has another one. As of right now the next time I'll be down there is in early June for a wedding.
I'm in no hurry. Let me know if you can't get one though. I appreciate it.

Grapefruit sculpin is a good day drinking beer. On the back porch grilling snapper.

Does it come in cans for floating the river?

It was my favorite of the ones I tried. A solid sour, but not so mind blowing that I would go through the trouble to check some back home with me.

Colorado folks,

I'm going to Denver for a conference in October and am flying up the weekend before with my wife. I know we want to hit Crooked Stave and find a place to watch A&M play (preferably somewhere with Pliny on tap). We'll get to town around 8 pm on Friday, and my wife's plane leaves early Sunday afternoon.

Any recs?

Also, I know it's early to be asking, but that's just how I roll.

I didn't try that one. Lines were long, so I only had one shot at ordering. I could only carry 4 glasses, and I found 4 beers that sounded better than Equipoise to me. Lots of people were picking up the giant bottles.

Assuming you'll be downtown:

Pliny on tap plus the A&M game will be tough depending on gametime. Falling Rock is the most consistent spot to find it, but it's not the best place to watch a game. Freshcraft has it from time to time and also has TVs. My recommendation would be to go to the Fainting Goat and watch the game with the local A&M club. It's a solid spot and is wall to wall Ags for a game.

Other brewery spots downtown I recommend are Ratio, River North, Black Shirt, and Epic.

Best bottleshops are Mr Bs and Argonaut.

If you have a car or want to venture outside of downtown you should go to the Highlands and hit Hops and Pie for pizza and beer. Their taplist is so solid. Small Batch Liquors is a really nice little shop just down the street run by a really nice couple. And Comrade Brewing is the hottest spot in Denver right now. Their lineup is solid, but they are really crushing the hoppy offerings. They are south of downtown in Aurora. You could hit TRVE for sours, along with Bull and Bush and Copper Kettle on your way there.

Those are just the popular sports. There's 25 other places to hit within a $40 round trip UBER ride.

I can provide other recs if your location is different or you want to hit restaurants hard.

Thanks. We'll be close to downtown, but I won't have a car. My company recently switched to ber, so that's out get-around plan. Game time is going to affect our plans, but we hope to be able to get out and see some of the city.

Have a good time jh, I just got back from there and wish I would've had more time to go to some more places on NoCo's list. I hit falling rock and stave for stuff on tap and Mr. B's for bottles to take back home. We also went to Wynkoop brewery, beers were meh but the atmosphere was cool and it's in the same area as falling rock. I pretty much stayed in the middle of downtown and we walked to falling rock and wynkoop which was a bit of a hike but gave me a chance to scope out the area.

Also if you're into hiking red rocks is a cool place to go but give yourself a day or 2 to get used to the elevation change. I did it on my first day and thought I was gonna die

I second River North. Love that brewery. Be sure to check the hours. I know they don't open until 3pm during the week. Probably different on the weekends.

Speaking of Colorado beer. Odell's Treeshaker IIPA is out and they are distributing it in 4 packs this year. I live in Fort Collins, but don't pimp many Odell beers. This is definitely one of my favorites and worth a try if you can find it. It is especially good on warm nights. Just be careful; the 10% abv creeps on you quickly.

(PS - I like that Grapefruit Sculpin, too. I wish I was in North County San Diego having one right now).

Well apparently the total wine here where I saw 4 or 5 sitting on the shelf a few weeks ago has sold the rest of them. I'm still working on it and will keep looking but I'd suggest you not depend on me.

Cool. I'm hoping Fort Worth sees some more. So far, one case of 6 bottles has hit one store and the Saucer got some. There has to be more, right?

I had one of Victorys 19th anniversary session IPA last night. It was OK but nothing too special. That being said I followed it up with a magnolia southern pecan that tasted nothing like I remembered it tasting so maybe I was just off.

No flame, but is there such thing as a special session IPA? Lagunitas Daytime is the only one I've found that is even drinkable. The rest taste like light beer to me.

Didn't realize there was a brewery in Parker. Might have to stop in next time I'm driving through on the way to the airport.

Hall brewing taproom opened about a year ago. The owner built the beetle kill farmhouse brewery from scratch several years ago, but not open to public yet and only production. There is also elk mountain which usually has nothing to write home about, but always seems to have a crowd. Barnett and sons will be the third and is supposed to open in May.
All 3 are within a mile of each other. Nice to be in a metro where even the cowtown burbs have plenty local beer to choose from They are a 3-4 mile bike ride from my house.
